So you posted something and made it sound like factually correct statement then when asked to back it up, you simply state "Makes no difference if I'm right or wrong,"

It makes a hell of a lot of difference if you're right or wrong.

No, what I'm saying is the evidence is still valid.
Have you proved me wrong yet?
  • When gathering evidence of crime they can park how they like.
    What crime would that be?

last time I checked civil servants (safety partnership is not manned by police officers) cannot gather evidence of crimes, they can man camera's for minor traffic offences but are responsible for where and how they park!.

There was a case in wales some time ago where the safety camera partnership were parked somewhere along the M4 in a police patrol area only slip road. the tickets it gathered were refunded, and point deleted from licenses after someone took it to court, because the camera van was parked illegally by the operator.

Well why have some police forces replaced detectives with civilian investigators?

They are allowed to interview suspects, take statements is that not gathering evidence?

Once saw a speed camera van doing 60+ in the very 50 zone it had previously been watching. Bare in mind they're not the Police and have to obey the law, I overtook him at the next roundabout and then sat there blocking the f**ker in lane 2 :)
Ooh!! I bet you were top dogs danglies in the playground!!

what authority would they have that any other civilian doesn't have ;).
what authority would they have to caution you to take a statement if you fell foul of the law?

Customs officers, dss, trading standards all conduct interviews under caution.

You don't take statements off suspects anymore pace saw to that.

Civilian investigators can do everything a police officer can do except they don't have a power of arrest.
  • Oh and going back to your point, what do you think the civilian in the camera enforcement van does?

Speeding is a crime, and anyone can gather evidence.

There is no category of "minor" offences. If you are summonsed for speeding you will appear in a criminal court alongside all the other (alleged) criminals such as drug dealers, thieves, rapists ...

I would like to see where he checked, he obviously doesn't understand the rules of evidence and has them confused with powers of arrest.

I mean he must have been in a supermarket before and seen security guards who gather evidence and detain shoplifters.
