Science says lasting relationships come down to kindness and generosity.

    I can believe this. :)

Kindness and consideration and putting other people first, is a good trait. :)

  • Great article - I strongly believe kindness is really important in a relationship.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

yes - if your partner cant be kind to you - and you to them - then you wouldn't be happy would you?

It's so often the little things that make a relationship happy or not - they might seen trivial but they're not.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^So True! one can overlook major flaws - but even small acts of unkindness can destroy a relationship.

Groan... my wife has just announced she "wouldn't mind" a Jeep JK. Does this mean that I have to buy her one to keep our marriage solid and stable?

I'm kind. I've always put others before myself, but sometimes kindness is seen as you're soft and it's all to easy to be taken for a sucker.

I was discussing this the other day wrt: working relationships and explaining to my friends that I get more out of them and other staff members than other registered nurses do because I 1: work my bum off, 2: never ask them to do anything I wouldn't do, and 3: I will make them a drink.
I think that kindness is also quite selfish, if I am kind, people are often nice to me. If I am not, they are not always. If I'm not kind and they aren't kind, I feel sad.

Kindness and generosity is not just about giving, it is about letting go to, not always needing everything to be 50/50, eye to eye. It's about making the first move even when you think you're in the right, and about doing things not to give, but just because it needs to be done.
