Whether you’ve lost a precious file, photo or everything on your hard drive, our Knowhow experts will attempt to retrieve and restore it.
I might be doing them a disservice, but I'm sure they won't be doing anything that you couldn't do yourself.
I can't see them repairing and restoring a 'dead' hard drive to get your data back.
You certainly don't need to buy from a high street store in order to get a warranty. What are you thinking?

Apple are great, I have a Macbook Air myself, but if you're used to Windows machines (and in your circumstances) I would stay with that.
I work in an organisation that has about 1500 UK users and I'm personally responsible for around 650 of them, they all have Dell laptops and desktops and the failure rate is extremely low.
In your circumstance I would buy online, from Dell with enhanced next day business support. You have an issue, they turn up the next day to fix it.0 -
my current one just crashed while working n now not starting.
Is there any specific dell laptop which you would recommend then plz?0 -

In terms of Office software there's also OpenOffice which is free and compatible with MS Office.
If you do go ahead and buy your MacBook Pro (the non-Retina version is £899 by the way...) you'll also get Pages, Numbers and Keynote (Apple's Office Suite) included free of charge. This is also compatible with MS Office.
For data backup you could use iCloud, DropBox, Box, Google Drive or OneDrive.
And I personally use AVG Antivirus myself which is also free... my iMac is three years old and it doesn't impact on performance whatsoever. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
