Logicor electric heating panels

  • Infra will only heat objects and only in straight line, if in a small room an infra panel was ceiling mounted you would feel warm. In an average room with two ceiling mounted in an always on situation you would begin to feel comfortable. The usual wall panel infra heating in my opinion is pretty useless in a domestic setting because a human needs one in front and one behind to benefit and unless you are prepared to chainsaw the back out of your chair or settee you are always going to feel the cold from the direction where there is no directed infra heat. That's why you can be naked and cold in a cold bathroom and quickly be warm and comfortable with a single 2-3kW ceiling mounted bathroom heater, a straight line between naked body and heater with no obstruction in between.

    Hi everyone
Looking for advice, last dec i went from oil heating to this new logicor electric heating system, looks very smart, but since it went in we was topping up our meter jan £265 feb £305 march £260 then during the summer back to £80. So then this oct we have put on £150 and already in nov just over £150 already! Eon have already said its rocketing up again. Do you think that paying that is economical? What do other people pay? May i add this is only a 2 bed house.

    Hi laceymaej

Hope you don't mind me sticking my nose in here but you certainly seem to be topping up a lot for the type of property described. As Andy_WSM says, have you thought about a credit meter?

Provided you pass a credit check and there's no debt involved, we can put a credit meter in free of charge. Although our standard prices are virtually the same as you're paying now, you'll have the option of different tariffs, both with us and with the other suppliers.

Also, if you set up a Monthly Direct Debit, you'll pay a lower daily standing charge. Might help a bit.

tberry6686 makes a good point about insulation. Have you spoken to us to see if you qualify for help with energy saving measures under the Government led Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme?

ECO includes things like insulation so worth asking if there's a chance of funding through this scheme.

We'll also be happy to help you save money by saving energy in other areas too. I'd check out the energy saving pages on our website, particularly the Saving Energy Toolkit. Lots of good tips plus a bit of a quiz. Watch out for those vampire devices that suck surprising amounts of juice when appliances are on standby.

Hope this is of interest laceymaej.
