Yes ive had all new installation, it did not cost me a penny as its a housing association property, there choice to remove oil with this. Which i was told would cost around £5 a week, not day!
They lied to you. I might cost £5/week in an A rated property, but I doubt yours is.

Expect your costs to rise as it really is mild at the moment. :(

The engineer did just call as 4 of them keep de-linking themself from the computer controlling them, and he thinks there is a problem with the electricity to them!
So could that be why is costs so much to run?
I doubt it. They cost a lot to run simply because electricity is expensive. Are you at least comfortable after paying all that money?
  • Weather we could afford it or not, is not the point I don't think £200 a month is affordable living. Even more so when we are not in winter.. We are looking at £250-£300. Like last year im scared to do washing etc to save costs on electric. I have 1 tv on and my fridge/freezer and heating and do 2 loads max of washing a week. I will make a complaint, as ive had just about enough.. Not only am i paying that to have a WARM home but now i have 4 broken ones out of 10 that don't work. And a company that are the otherside of the country

    You have 10 heaters?

    How big is the house?
  • Looks impressive, but its all aesthetics and marketing, the figures are based on manufacturer's extensive test data not independant testing so their savings figures must be correct ~not a chance ~. eRAD system price lists are as expected - a secret, but a half kW panel heater can be had for about £30. Is the O/P in Scotland ?

How did Logicor get 'Energy Saving Trust Recommended'?
  • Out of interest what housing association is it?

All things green I suppose, EST seem to hand out endorsements to anyone that calls them-self a 'green' company - I've no idea, but its not based on any kind of objective testing - just testimonials which are effectively paid infomercials. Clueless jobsworths and others in local authorities, housing associations etc charged with 'going green' believe what they are told in sexy presentation with an expensive free lunch. Scotland because of their particularly green generation credentials bend over backwards paying for all sorts of madcap schemes many even multi mi££ion pound ASP & pellet based district heating are having to fire-fight unrealistic costings where householders can't afford the running costs.

All these infra sellers have four common denominators. They are all based on (1) secret pricing, (2) an already thermally efficient dwelling (3) infra spectrum half kW panels that need all objects in a room to become radiators and the need for (4) the panel heater to be on 24/7 for the entire 5 month winter if you are 'in home' as in unemployed, work from home - are retired - or are stay at home mum etc. Sadly the poor who are by definition 'social housing' are always those most unlikely to be able to afford grand schemes.

Pretty small if only 10 heaters - that is another problem with electric panel heaters (even 'normal' ones). They tend to be 2kWh max. These type are 1kWh max. How does anyone have any wallspace for furniture with electric heating?

I was thinking one heater per room, but if they are that low powered I can see why there would be more of them!
