December 2014 Grocery Challenge
Comments
-
I've not been online much over the past few days but am happy to report that we've only spent £42 on various food bits over the past week or so. It now looks as though I'm set to achieve the target for my first grocery shop challenge!
Now to decide how much to adjust my budget for January...I'm thinking if I try and reduce my target my £10 each month to begin with that would be do-able, although January always does seem like a long, long month!Jan GC - £25/£230
Dec GC - £239.05/£2400 -
Declaring for December at £80 which is £20 less than December last year so I think I have met my challenge for a bit less or stay the same. will work out exactly later.
Really pleased with this as it included a Christmas eve bargain hunt of £22, total of which would have been £80 plus. This has set me up with rammed freezers again so wont need to buy meat or fish for next 3 or 4 months. possibly longer as I have found over the year that I am eating less meat but more fruit and veg (slimming World)
Right off to join January thread for my 5th year and hopefully another frugal one.
Edited to say now totalled up and I am £33 under last years budget so 64p a week less lol. it dosent seem a lot but £33 will buy me everything I need for first couple of weeks in January.Slimming World at target0 -

Well £26 spend at tesc* today which takes me over my budget
I am not too surprised at this though because I hadn't expected DS1 home from the army so early in the month and he can eat for his country so I hadn't budgeted enough. I also got some YS items to put in the freezer so this might balance out to next month will wait and see
Debt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Gave my cousin a lift today to save her walking on icy roads so nipped into @sda for our milk and mushroom top up. £7.18 spent and that's me done for the month. The freezers still seem fairly full :T so we won't be going hungry any time soon. Total December spend £271.250

Declaring my Dec total spends of £129 (ish)/£140 (total is in signature). Only went to the shop for a couple of bits today, then friends invited selves over and then that fell through...We are fully stocked in the freezer now though!
Have a fabulous evening.Married in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017
