Small Claims Court - Currys Electrical?

I don't really think Currys is in the wrong here as unless your mum is noticeably frail they've no way of knowing she might fall. Besides which I very much doubt the salesperson knew the door temperature while in operation. If they should have done is an entirely different argument but I think your claim against Currys is non existant.
Morally I'm with you here. Zanussi shouldn't sell an oven that can burn people. However legally there will be guidelines as to how hot the door can be while in use. Have you checked to see what that temperature limit is? Once you've got that you need to take a temperature reading of the door. If the door temperature is higher then it's an easy fix for you. If it's lower then despite what you or I may think there is nothing wrong with the oven and the likelyhood is any legal action will result in nothing.0 -
Curry's do have a duty of care, but as said if the person is not noticeable frail it would be up to the person to tell the sales person. Looks like she made a mistake (you should be with her next time) and you should buy her a door protector.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0
