Thanks for all the replies to this. I finally spoke to someone at Virgin who gave me some good advice. She informed me that because I was effectively being made homeless I stood a good chance of getting the fees waivered. To do this, I had to explain my situation in full, in writing. So I've done this by recorded delivery, and I am just waiting for a responce.0

Don't know if this would work, but when did the person you're moving in with sign up to NTL/Virgin? If they had subscribed for over a year, could they not disconnect and reconnect using your account? Might come into reconnection fees and all that mumbo jumbo though.0
