Thats really good blackste! It would have been really easy to just say "we'll get through Christmas and then start" - but you didn't, you started in November. And when you start, unexpected expenses do crop up especially often, you don't have enough data to look back and say, yes, this happens then. Using the overdraft sounds more like a cash flow thing than anything else, you're only into it £90 and your OH is owed expenses too.
Keep going! I'm glad the m.b. is paying off too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC,
I have to admit, the Mbing is harder to get back into than i thought it would be. It is much easier to make money at the start, with all the new bookie offers, than it is to jump in now, with virtually no new bookies, and only offers to go at. The only plus side is that im not "needing" the cash now. First time around, i did it because we were skint, and wanting to get married, now it is just a bonus.
How are you getting along with it by the way? I have to say, the forums are not the friendly helpful place they once were, I dont spend a lot of time over there, but what i have spent is largely people unwilling to help newbs, infighting, and egos.

You're welcome

I made a hash of skaye - completely wasted the free bet somehow, and counting the qualifier I lost a total of just under £2! I was rushing myself
got other stuff going on, including health issues, so I can't do much at the mo. I think its a New Year thing for me, sad to say. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sorting the health out first. Always top priority. If you want another run at MBing in the new year, let me know and i will help you through the first few. Once those are out of the way, it clicks, and gets far easier.Mortgage £242500 on completion

Ooh, thank you! Even when I did it regularly last time, I was never sure of it .... off to cook my tea now
thanks blackste
you have a good evening too. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning all.
Busy week of work again, and i have not had too much to post.
So, payday has been, and "bonus" has been paid off FD CC. Once Mrs B has all her ebay money sorted, that and the regular payment should knock £1000 from that balance this month. I will no doubt round the payment to make a nice even number as well. If we are careful after new year, we may be able to make another payment as well, which would be great.
A few small things left to buy for christmas, but literally £10s of pounds, and thats it.
MBing is ticking along nicely. Got an offer from laddies to place a bet, and get a random token to spend with them. Got a £5 token for slots, which i turned into £26.10 (luck). Also a few other offers, which brought me to about £45/£50 for the week.
The plan is to bring the MBing fund up to around £500, the everything over that will go to repayments. £500 can maintain a nice amount of offers, with the sort of odds i prefer to go for.
Plan for the week ahead....
Sadly only 2 days off before 2 more nights (then done for xmas), so a bit limited. Potter on with some MBing, buy and wrap pressies, sort through garage for unwanted/unneeded tools ready for january ebay.
Take care all.

Not sure if you've anything left to ebay but have you looked at gumtree? DD uses it and swears by it - she gets a good response very quickly and it's worth selling low value stuff as there's no postage. Obviously helps if you're in a large town/city. She also uses it to get rid of scrap wood etc so saves her a trip to the skip. Well actually, as she waits till I'm there, it saves me a trip to the skip
. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Morning Gallygirl,
Actually no, i/we had not thought about gumtree. Thanks for that, another avenue to dispose of our clutter
We are both fairly new to the idea selling our old stuff. We have largely just given things away, or disposed of them. All ideas are welcome. We have a serious amount of books, cds and dvds/blurays, which i have spend a fortune on, and would love to see some value for. Honestly, i wont let things go to music magpie, as for the 10, 20 and 30p they offer on cds is insulting. It actually scares me to think what i have spent on music over the years. I sold 4000cds in 1995, and paid for a 4 day trip to Paris for me and an Ex.

Hi all.
Wow 3 weeks passed quickly. Been a busy bee over the festive period. Hope you all had a good one.
Not much to report really. just popping in to keep motivated on the diary. Fairly low spend christmas once the prezzie buying was done. Christmas dinner at my parents cost me a bottle of champers, and a night out in a nice hotel with dinner and drinks set me back £200. Not bad at all really. we usually head to the north east for new year, but that didnt come off this year, so saved us in the region of £200.
Monthly totals are due next weekish, so that should be good. I paid a nice chunk from FDCC from the christmas bonus, and the total is down to just over £4k. Also had a few decent results from MBing, and some of the christmas offers. Not at Edinburghers levels, but pottering along. In the region of £100 for the month.
Take care,

Evening all.
Monthly totals update this evening. All things concidered, im well happy with this month. Need to get wifey ebaying again, and that will move things on nicely.
Mortgage total £104694.29. We are only overpaying by £41 per month atm.
FDCC is now £3990. This is the primary focus, as the 0% runs out in august. Paid off my christmas bonus, the usual £300, plus an extra £100 tonight, and i might have another £200 tomorrow, depending on if anything goes out overnight.
LLOYDCC at £4800. only movement here is the regular £175 payment, which will remain constant until FDCC is clear. Then its getting battered.
Bank of mum and dad remains constant £11250, and will do so until later in the year.
Sad face debt total is now £124734.29.
Which is actually not too terrible from the november figure, and doesnt include the potential £200 tomorrow. Good news is, we were not even close to the overdraft this month, and that was after paying to get some jobs done which i hate doing.
Hope your all doing well.
