Before I post I would just like to say my thoughts are also with Dusty, Bossymoo and Katiecat.

I am in this week, but have not posted so far as struggling with depression. Had counselling yesterday then fell asleep on the sofa at about 4, woke up at 7 went to bed and slept through till 8 this morning. My head feels so much clearer and counsellor has loaned me a light box to see if that helps.

Today I am going to tackle the following

    Monday - kitchen
    15 minutes...
    Give the hob a clean
    Got 30 minutes...
    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clean a window
    Wipe the worksurfaces

    Extras
    Catch up on phone calls/paperwork/emails
    HHI

Tueday - Rooms of Doom (that'll be the Hallway and Landing)
    15 minutes...
    Shine the mirror or window
    Got 30 minutes...
Spend the entire HH tidying up, putting away, finding homes for whatever is making this room a mess - make sure you find the sideboard
    Extras
Mid month check of bank accounts

Wednesday - Bathroom and downstairs loo/ensuites
    15 minutes...

Check medical supplies, get rid of out of date stuff and replenish stocks
    Got 30 minutes...
    Clean baths, sinks and toilets
Wash tiles and splash backs, make them sparkle
    An hour to spare...
    Wash shower curtains/bath mats
    Shine the mirrors
    Extras
    HHI
    Listing on Ebay

HH Me time - reading in front of the lightbox

    Best wishes to all

I need to find my GUAG and get started immediately  Please will someone give me a prod.

(((Hugs))) to Bossy, Dusty and KatieCat and everyone suffering with BD - SAD may be kicking in the for those who suffer from it.

Sushistar, I work from and at home too, and my office is my RoD (plus which it used to be on the landing) so we have a lot in common. It's nowhere near tamed, but spending 15 minutes every day sorting, tidying, deep cleaning and sprucing it up is definitely making me make inroads into the collected crud of eons.

Strange, that several of us have a deep discomfort in the ManDomain of 'tyreworld.' I'm now fantasising of a car place staffed by at least half a workforce of women, where it would be as much of a pleasure to go and get the car fixed. Possibly a hairdresser / manicurist as part of the business 'while you wait' which I'd be more than happy to pay for.

Plumber-types replacing rusty radiators in the lodgers' bedrooms, all coffee'd up, Lodger 1 to rehearsals, Lodger 2 to day job, Lodger 3 on the sofa watching daytime TV.
    Better is good enough.

Going to have something to eat and then clean the bathroom and head to town for a few supplies.

Bossy you are an inspiration, I shall try to take your lead and not wallow.

Gilly hugs, let us know how the lamp works for you x

    Bathroom Done!

Elasticmoney Welcome! Great username. :D take a bit of time to read the first post, where a new list is posted daily. By doing one room a day, you'll find the whole house is done, without it taking too much time or effort. You don't need to complete the whole list, as the room will come round again.

Having said that, I can usually do each room in under an hour - kitchen usually takes me the longest.

Very tired again today, but sun is shining, so I want to pot up a few bulbs I haven't got around to, and tidy a bit in the greenhouse.

Bossymoo Love your attitude, you go girl. :D

    Ironing done
Masses of hair and scuff removed from shower plug hole - yuck, it has been soaking with vinegar and soad crystals so time for a very hot rinse now.

Going to have a cuppa, finish bathroom and then pop to town.

    Serena please don't overdo it.

dusty I'm not I promise! All that flylady practice over the years has paid off, and I can fairly race though the rooms. Back on the sofa for the afternoon. :D

  • Hi all, I've enjoyed a quick catch up of the thread. Also enjoyed working at my clean desk!

I'm struggling to choose a bike for my DCs birthday. The one he loved in Halfords is on sale, but when we tried it, it was a bit small - not massively, just his feet touched the floor a bit too much. But the next best one we've found is £60 more, and I think maybe I should just get him the one he loves, save £60, and accept he'll need a new one a couple of months sooner. We have a younger boy, so it will be passed on to him. Hmmm.

Am now going to try and finish the work stuff I'm doing before school pickup!

    Hi, Elasticmoney!

Five small quichey-things out of the oven, but I've run out fried onions and cream, and forgot to put the last tranche of grated cheese in. They smell fine so they should be alright. Three more pastry cases to fill; I think I'll just use milk for those.

Plumber is having problems soldering the new rads onto the pipework despite draining the whole system down. Thank goodness the showers are electric and the sitting room is warm for the actor who, for once, isn't travelling, understudy rehearsing or doing a matinee and is therefore having a much needed rest day. Anyone off to see The Full Monty will see him, but I haven't asked if they will do so in his full glory - so to speak. Lodger 3 saw the the show on Monday and said it was absolutely terrific. Mrs Dog thinks the world is an okay place today; she's lovely and calm and interested in what's going on in the kitchen, Devil Cat wants to help the testosterone-charged plumbers and be blokey around them.
    Better is good enough.

Just playing catch-up with the Fred...

(((HUGS))) to Katiecat + the Staffie pup, Bossy and Dusty.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday - didn't even switch the netbook on! I was still feeling quite shaken up, and we were out last night (opera) so I decided not to go online at all.

Families - I think too many people make assumptions about others' situations. Everyone is different; everyone has their own unique set of circumstances, and all we can do is what seems the best thing given the information available at the time.
I still kick myself for what turned out, with hindsight, to be bad decisions, and for not sticking up for myself better than I did, but I can't change the past.

Flying - I seem to have yet again ground to a halt. I keep hoping each week that this will be the week I finally get back properly on track, and I keep dropping the ball.

Seeing the physio-terrorist this evening, which I'm very apprehensive about; I don't like strangers touching me. Thankfully it's only my paws she'll be dealing with.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
