Me again, Did he get a PAC code from 02 first which you then give to Vodafone?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0

He bought the phone and contract from a shop on Sunday, and phoned o2 to get a pac code today to move his old number over to his new contract, not knowing that it can only be done at the point of sale0

Ah he did it the wrong way round. First you get the pac code then you give it to the new service provider (vodafone) they bring the number over and set your contract up.
Speak nicely to the vodafone store (or by phone ) and say you've made an error and will they please cancel the new number they gave him and bring his number over on the pac which presumably you now have from 02?
You won't be the first to have done this so they should help as long as you eat humble pie - they would be doing you a favour, they don't have to do it.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Thanks I will try to get him to give that a try, trouble is he is not a very confident person and does not like doing things like this.0

ok, I understand, in a way that will count in his favour. What staff don't like is cocky people who might be snotty to them. I don't work in a store (luckily I don't have unhappy customers either) but if someone is nice to me I will move heaven and earth for them. If they are not so nice then they would get diddly squat
If he says he really wasn't aware that he should have got the PAC first and please can they help him out. Can someone go in with him? Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I have offered to go with him at the weekend, he is un-decided whether to bother (everything is an effort for these youngsters) I would do it because it will be less hassle but he has now said he could just text all his contacts. I think he will regret but its up to him thanks for the info anyway.0

No problem madmaxine. He will still have to do something with his old 02 number i.e. have them cancel it otherwise he will still be charged his line rental even if he's not using it.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0
