    (unless "not actual gameplay footage"!)
Almost always is, therefore setting you up for disappointment whatever console you have.
I don't think £300 is a lot for a console which will (hopefully) have at least a 5 year lifespan
X360 and PS3 will still be around in 5 years, with a huge library of games, and I bet they will still be getting releases for a significant portion of that.
They have not indicated any interest in multimedia capabilities - if they have, then yes at present last gen are still better but that will change with further updates
They didn't say they're NOT interested either, so it's a big, general view. You're living in the future again with your more expensive consoles that DO less and have FEWER games.
You gave us a good history lesson earlier on - here's another one - remeber the first X360s and PS3s? Remember how big, hot, unreliable and expensive they were? See how much those ones are worth now (hopefully the PS2 compatibility novelty has worn off buy now, and most of those consoles have broken anyway!)? That's where we're at with XBox One and PS4 at the moment.

I would go for the console your best friends are playing. If you have no friends playing console games I would go for the Xbox one. Security means everything for me. And in the past Sony has had umpteenth issues with credit card hacks and play station being offilne due to hacking.

    I don't think that's very likely, but we'll see!

You're right about the unreliability issues with last gen of course. I'm just hoping they learned their lesson, but again we'll see.

Regards security, I don't think Sony or Microsoft are any better or worse than each other and hardly worse than other major online businesses (didn't ebay have a big problem a few years back? I remember having to change my password).

eBay around 2/3 months back everyone had to change passwords due to hack.

As far as Microsoft is concerned I have never had online issues like Sony have had in the past. Seen Sony in the news more than Microsoft for hacking/downtime reasons!

  • When xbox one came out, xbox360 production was supposed to be stopping after 2 years. Which would be now. Asda on Black Friday sold them for £99 (means nothing I know) but maybe could be true. Off the 40 people I play different games online with 3/4 are now using Xbox one..

Microsoft have already said xbox360 support will stop in 2016. So will game releases I assume. I would imagine in 2016 Xbox two will be talked about. So around 18 months max left in xbox360.

No, the Xbox One hasn't even been out for 13 months. Two years is 24 months. It will be "now" in December 2015. ;)

Games might be around abit longer. Games tend to take years to make, so some developers would have started an xbox360 game before the xbox one came out but could be released several years after.
They wont just abandon the games because a new console is out and not all developers (esspecially smaller ones) can switch to a new console straight away.
