Why can't they (PC gamers) just accept that not everyone wants to game on a PC. They are always pushing it in peoples faces!
I accept it. There's pros and cons about PC's just as there are with consoles.
But some people do say some things about PC gaming that are just a bit wrong so a tiny bit of correction is needed0 -
I preferred PC games until I met my wife and had children. Now I prefer consoles for their simplicity, ease of use, and being smaller to store.
Sadly though I'm currently between consoles so am also having the internal debate over which one to get (or whether I really have the time anymore!)0 -
Xbox all the way!0

Nice reasoned argument there...0

Cannot understand for the life of me why people are recommending obsolete consoles. Development will cease for the previous generation pretty soon - the new consoles are selling in huge numbers.
If you're getting back into gaming why would you not want to play the most up to date games? You can get either the PS4 or Xbox One currently for £300 with games included.0 -
obsolete consoles
my recommendation above is for someone who has neither console. Under £200 will get you the console and games. Do what you want with that, and see what price the next gens are when you have had your use out of the 'obsolete' ones.0 -

When will support for the PS3 and XB360 come to a halt, oh wise one?
I suspect you haven't got a clue. Which renders your statement regarding previous gen consoles, well, complete boolarx.0 -

Charming. Internet forums are about opinions, sorry if you don't agree with mine.
I can "have a clue". Its based on common sense and observations based on previous experience of 30 years.
The latest generation of consoles have sold more in the first year than any other (exception being the Wii, I think). There are huge numbers out there already.
I would be very surprised if the ps3 and Xbox 360 have any major "AAA" titles still coming out by this time next year. You normally get 12-18 months overlap before games stop being released on the old consoles. So we're just about there.
Sure, the original poster could buy a ps3/360 pretty cheap and have a great time working through the old titles (assuming single player games as the multiplayers will have very few people left). But its not very future proof. You'll be seeing those beautiful new games being advertised next year.... and they won't be available on the old consoles.
I stand by my point. I'd advise PS4 or Xbox one - PS4 having the edge.0
