Hoover suction n/w can I take it back

Hi, I brought a Hoover from tesco in February, it's a zanussi model and its suction now has no power, can I take it back to tescos, I still have the receipt? Thanks for any advice

You can certainly try. Since it is more than 6 months from purchase they can require you to prove the fault is inherent, but they may just refund or replace without question.

I assume its not something simple like the filter needs cleaning or bag replacing?
  • Have you bothered to check it for a blockage?

I'd certainly speak to tesco first. But as its been more than 6 months since purchase, they may require you to prove the fault is inherent.

If that is the case, it will likely be easier to have it repaired under the manufacturers warranty.

I second the radical suggestion to try cleaning all the pipes & filters first.
  • Thanks for the advice I have checked filters and for blockages etc, just wondered if I could take back...I'll give it a go

    I didn't even notice.

    Seriously, does it really matter?
The Hoover brand whilst still a trademark has become genericised to the point it can simply mean a vacuum cleaner and doesn't need pointing out every time somebody uses the word in a post.
