The discounts really aren't great this year, are they? :(

Not they're not. I've said before but last year I bought the World Atlas, it was £17.99; I saw it listed yesterday and the deal price was £40 this year.

Have bought two things we needed:

    1) A wifi extender. The deal said the normal price was £39.99, deal price £25.99. Camelcamelcamel showed that it's been £29.99 for most of the last two months anyway. So only saved £4.

    2) A travel blackout blind. Deal said RRP £29.99, deal price £15.99. CamelCamelCamel says it's normally £20 anyway. Again, saving £4.

I've also noticed that if you go to a product page after claiming a deal, it shows you the current normal selling price. Again, for the blind above, it's not £29.99 currently, it's £22.99.

I don't mind - I knew all this before purchasing and picked these up because they're things we'd been after. Just not going nuts and impulse buying loads of tat I don't need this year! Fully expect the things I bought to drop to the deal price in January anyway.

Was looking at the black out blind, stopped because it said £29.99 47% off then it says £22.99 so only a fiver off? Only get 15 mins to check out and now not sure whether it is a deal or could be bought elsewhere for cheaper or around the same price?

Is it a bargain or not??

People seem to constantly harp back to the huge discounts the first year. That was done to create the buzz, which they did. The other thing is the discounts are always to the RRP, which has probably never been sold at. Surely the point is if it is cheaper than elsewhere then it is still a good price, if you can get it cheaper elsewhere it is simple, buy it elsewhere.

The deals will never be as good as the first year, ever.

just seen the price of the micro pedi and it says original price £37 odd but it's been a lot lower for a long time recently saw it @ £27 and when I brought it last Christmas it was only £29.99.

just goes to show you really have to check prices out

I always check with camelcamelcamel and if it's cheaper than that I'm happy.

For most of this year it's been £20 on Amazon:

The deal is £15.99. This is cheaper than other websites. You can buy it now for £15.99 or you'll be able to get it for £20 in coming weeks.

Depends how you define bargain. I picked one up as it has a few quid off and we wanted one.

Thank you:D so it is £3.01 cheaper than it usually is, a bargain would be half price:)

£3.01 cheaper is better than £3.01 extra. If you need/want one then it is a good price, if you don't then wait and see if it is cheaper elsewhere in January sales
