EXPIRED Amazon Black Friday week: W/c 24th Nov

Of course it's rubbish. Amazon (like all retailers) exist to make money for their shareholders. There will be a very, very small number of real bargains just to draw people in, but everything else will be stuff they can't get rid of, and stuff very fractionally reduced just to sell volume.
But it works - just like M&S and Debenhams ever-present 'up to 50% off' sales. People are gullible and they keep going back for more - even though in reality they're being conned.
I know that's the general reason, but the first year was full of genuinely cheap deals. Like XBoxs, Wiis and GHDs for £50. The last couple of years have been rubbish discounts in comparison, with very few genuine deals. But my point was that it wasn't always like that. You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like herBig Bang Theory

I will still be joining in again this year though, but proceeding with more caution as to which cards/ money sources I use!Amazon are one of the largest hosting providers in the world. They don't have any need to outsource during busy periods, they can handle it.Tiggerlilly wrote: »Sorry but that is incorrect, Amazon admitted in a communication to me that they outsourced during busy times, when I contacted them to report what had happened to my card last year.
Tiggerlilly spoke with a supervisor at Amazon after reading your post but say they have very strict guide lines on payment data, and card details are kept on servers that are completely seperate to the website and only accessed when order is placed and then later when payment is taken upon despatch. The servers are dedicated in house and are not outsourced but as they are separate is where may have been some confusion. They also confirmed not even customer service have visibility to customers full card details.
Sorry to hear about your card being cloned as this is frustrating and very inconvenient as happened to us twice but both times when used in London. Once to pay for a meal should have been suspicious with that one as took card away for a long time. the other to book theatre tickets at one of the booths.0 -

Plus, maybe they expanded since last year?
At any rate, the four things I was looking at so far I didn't end up getting. Not so much the price, just when the crunch came to the crunch, I didn't really need it.
REMEMBER: the x% off is from the original retail price they had it at. It might only be a few pounds off the current selling price. They also have the same "lightning deals" all throughout the year, which work the same way. Black Friday just have bigger discounts supposedly.
The Philips clock was one thing as my partner needs one but it seemed a little too old fashioned with the dials on the sides.
Will wait and see what the rest of the week holds, and if I'm still interested, they may have it again next week.0 -
I waited until the Vax handheld went live.
It was £39.99 this morning and then came up as 40% off making it £29.99 ???

Last year things went on offer that were not listed as up coming, thus making sure people were checking all the time rather than just looking first thing and deciding there was nothing they wanted and then leaving the site for the dayIf you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

There are some 'OK' offers so far, not great but the Bomb Cosmetics & make-up brushes are a good price as was the Kipling purse but as usual it's a case of sifting through the rubbish to find something good!
Still, it's all good fun0
