Buying House - Tenant refusing to leave...

Yes, that'll show the damn tenant, who will at that stage be living in another private rental, social housing or a property they have purchased themselves, who's boss.
The vendor won't want to exchange until they're confident of being able to deliver vacant possession at completion.0 -

Irrelevant. This is not and exercise in social inclusion, it's a business deal. All that matters to the OP is that the property can be purchased, if he still wants it. His own life is, and should be, his priority.
There is a difference in tenure between tenant and owner occupier and it is a fact of life that the former will make way for the latter. As a tenant you have less responsibility and the trade off is less security.Mornië utulië0 -
What are you going on about social inclusion for? Who said anything about social inclusion? You are the one talking about getting the tenant kicked out as for some reason you still haven't grasped the fact that the OP has no control over this tenancy. Nor do you seem to understand what the word "expidite" means. Whether the tenant goes by hook or by crook doesn't matter to the OP anymore than the tenant gives a flying fig about the OP's plans.0

Calm down dear.
You're right, I have no idea what the word "expidite" means. I do know what the word "expedite" means though

Ouch! Muphry's law strikes!Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
... you to buy the house and let the tenant stay in it. After all, she is less fortunate than you. Perhaps you could start a family in a cardboard box under her stairs if she lets you - after all "it's her hooooomeeee". ...........
Is it more than the tenant's home: It is the tenant's PROPERTY!!! See

Clearly you don't since the scenario you described doesn't mean that the OP would be expediting the situation.
