Well if it don't fit in the well an inflated one won't will it smart !!!!. If it does fit with room to spare get someone to explain that to you.0 -

Average 54 posts per day!. Nearly 600 posts in 12 days. Have you got an attention seeking disorder?.0 -

Exactly, who explained that to you?0 -
The French had the right idea mounting a full size spare under the car in a cage.
Expect when the bolt rusts and has to be cut off or some !!!!! nicks it, which happened to previous neighbour of mine.
Amazes me why the OP even started this thread when they were going the tyre fitters anyway and would've had their query answered in about 30 seconds.0 -

Agreed. Plus on a lot of new cars, a spare wheel is an optional extra as they come with a "repair kit" which is useless if the original tyre is "shredded".PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

If you take a silly car, like a rubbish bmw m5 with it's stupid 4 exhausts, there's nowhere for a wheel well.
This is why I sold mine and got a 98 corolla, as a bonus this was just as fast but far superior.0 -

Driving with differing circumference wheels on each side of a driven axle won't do any kind of diff much good.
My Fred Flintstone comment wasn't entirely serious
I realise there are ways round it, but it's another factor that is overlooked when manufacturers decide to supply us with these innovations 'for our own good'.
An open diff will take a slight variation in rolling diameter of the wheels without much harm, especially if the speed and distance advice for the space saver is followed. I don't know the exact layout of the Torsen system, but if the manufacturer thinks it's worth mentioning, I will go along with that.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
