Nissan Micra spare wheel query

What's the problem with using the spacesaver?
It's only on the car for a few hours or a couple of days at the most until you get a new tyre for the one that was damaged.
Why waste money on a full sized spare that is just going to lie in the boot until the next puncture.0 -
Just get a secondhand wheel with a legal tyre off eBay, or from a scrapyard.
The spacesaver can only be used at low speeds, and likely shouldn't be put on the front because it is a totally different size to the wheels & tyres fitted to the car.
I have a full size spare for my Nissan, but to get it in the tiny space for the comedy "spare" wheel I have to let the air out and jump up and down on it.
In the event of a wheelchange I would simply extract the deflated spare, connect the pump, and whilst I am struggling with the jack it will inflate ready to fit.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Why doesn't he just try the original now?0 -
Space savers are a stupid idea, quite possibly the stupidest on any car. Great, you might get an extra few litres of boot space, but if you're on holiday with luggage stuffed in the boot with not an inch spare you've still got to get the whole lot out and you've still got to put the full size wheel in the same !!!!!!! space, and then realise there is no longer enough room for your kids bucket and spade. So either get the gunk stuff, or get a full sized wheel.0

Is there a magic way to get the full sized wheel out?0 -
Yes, you wouldn't have had any room for the luggage and therefore not realised how much space was needlessly used for carrying the spare tyre.0

A full size spare wheel is a major problem if there is no where to stash it out of sight.
While I don't think that spacesavers are necessarily a good idea, I have to say that I bought one on eBay.
My car has no spare wheel well and came with run-flat summer tyres.
When I change over to the winter rubber I need a spare of some sort and one of the summer tyres takes up too much room in the boot.
Under the pretence of convenience the car manufactures have pulled a fast one and landed many of us with a problem.
Even in the summer on long journeys I carry the spacesaver - and a compressor with the latex stuff - and an aerosol tyre-weld type of thing as well.
I've had 3 punctures in the last 18 months - all in nearly new tyres.0
