I'm in my first month with an Amex card and have found this to be excellent.
Visited five off licences in Brixton today and was only refused by one who said there was a problem with the card machine, so I walked out. Of the four that did accept, two charged 50p for the transaction.

If you're in the area / on the Victoria line a good opportunity to stock up on Xmas booze they are all within 2 minutes of the station....never even thought about Oyster top-ups but will keep that in mind!

Also visited the Holborn Whippet pub last week and got the £5 credit pretty swiftly, and got a unexpected bonus buying balls of wool for my sister for Christmas (she asked for them!), https://www.blacksheepwools.com , who are based in Warrington, are also a Shop Small merchant.

Got emails for all 6 transactions within moments. Now need to get some Oyster top-ups...

    Tomorrow it ends

I've had 50 lots of £5 statement credits, and £119.70 on reporting stores not taking Amex, and Amex refunding the 50p-£2 (YES!!!) surcharge imposed by most retailers

Mostly spent on Oyster top-ups... half price travel in London for a few years, or, I learned, I could ask for a refund on the Oyster cards if I wanted to cash in. Take ID.

For other Londoners, pay-as-you-go Oyster can only hold £90 credit...Just get more cards once you've reached the limit!

Think I'll call it a day now

Still unhappy with merchants who say on the Small Shop website and in their windows they take Amex, but then resent it, add a charge or claim not to take Amex.

If they are so unhappy, then simply DON'T SIGN UP to Amex and the world would be clearer for everyone!

Any one know if you can pay in aldi with Amex? Now that they accept credit card, at the mo I pay with barclaycard cashback fuel and food and that's it. But that 5% sounds good! Also looking at the Santander

    Contact Amex through https://www316.americanexpress.com/iFormsSecure/un/iforms.do?cuid=contactUs_en_GB&evtsrc=link&evttype=0

I can't get the link to work as it comes up with an error message:

''You have left fields blank or incomplete. Please review your entry and make necessary corrections.''

Any other suggestions for contacting Amex about their offers?
I had the same problem until I tried registering first then the form sent just fine. register first via:

    Not amex sadly.

I did sent Amex a message on Facebook asking about this (Aldi and Lidl) and they said their on it and to check again in January. So obviously its something Aldi and Lidl are working on. Amex probably won't charge them anymore than Visa/MC cards so it'll be a matter of getting the chip application on their terminals (Unlike a certain new Amex retailer who can't take the card via the chip and has to swipe the card).

Thank you for the link but I can't get it to work. Is there something missing from it?
