£10,000 gone by summer 2015 - we can do it!

Car done - total of £328, so not too hideous.
Hitting a few obstacles attempting to secure us a new rental property - we cannot move until mid February, but I'd like to sort out somewhere well before that, as I have to get a school place for DD, and you are not allowed to put in an application until you have a confirmed address. I've seen quite a few suitable places, some of which aren't available until mid / end January, but none of the LL's are prepared to hang on til mid Feb, even if we pay!!
One estate agent helpfully told me, "You're looking too early, you need to wait until after Xmas!" That gives us 6 weeks to sort out absolutely everything, including a new school AND new childcare!
:eek::eek::eek:
Anyway, I'm going to keep checking daily, hopefully something will come up soon.
Paid £50 off Smile visa today. :j0 -
Helloooo!
Count me please!
Two weeks ago, I had a debt of £11800, but recently I sent a cheque for £1300 which has reduced my debt to £10500! I really need to get rid of this by summer.
Regards to allNo debts 🙌0 -
Hi Iwillsucceed and good luck with your journey!
So DH's car sorted out now, but mine had to have two new front tyres on Saturday! The alignment was all wrong, (potholes!!), and they were both badly worn on the outer rims. So £140 all in
Sold a big item on ebay last night for £130, just waiting for payment - at least that will almost cover the cost of the tyres!
Updated Totals :
Smile Visa - £2190
Fluid Visa - £7813
Total - £10003!
I am going to pay off another fiver tomorrow, so the £10000 barrier will be broken!!
Happy Monday everyone :beer:0 -
New totals!!
Smile Visa - £2163
Fluid Visa - £7813
Total - £9976

Hello everyone, I've been a bit slack about keeping up with the diary, sorry!
Not much to report really - Xmas shopping all done, (nothing at all has gone on the credit cards, which is an absolute first for me!). Still looking for a rental property, but realistically not expecting to secure anything this side of Xmas.
Will update totals later in the week! :T0 -
Merry Christmas to one and all! Hope you all had a wonderful day.
Updated totals:
Smile - £2000
Fluid - £7700
Total - £9700
I decided it would be nice to make them round figures! I was lucky enough to get a very generous bonus from my lovely employers, so more will be coming off next week!
Here's to 2015, I am SO determined that this will be the year that I crush the debt once and for all .0 -
So looks like we may have found a property! Am not getting hopes up yet though, as we have not yet had an answer to our query of whether we are allowed to have our elderly cat there. If they say no I am going to offer a) a larger deposit b) 3 months rent in advance, and c) a written guarantee that all carpets and curtains will be professionally cleaned at the end of the tenancy. Not much more we can do - we also have an excellent reference from our current landlord, so hopefully that will count for something. Fingers very tightly crossed here!!
