My mind is pretty firmly set on the A1. I have been driving sensible cost effective cars since I passed in 2008 - I really want something a bit special.
You really believe the Audi A1, the most lowest model Audi, is special? It was only launched a few years ago to trick some consumers into thinking they have a 'luxury/special' car at an affordable price, similiar to that of the Mercedes A class.
There is nothing special about the A1, it's just an massively overpriced car. You're paying for the badge nothing else.
This is the problem we have in todays developed world and unfortnately developing countries too who are largely influenced by the western life style. Everyone wants the latest iPhone, designer clothes, designer cars (BMW/Audi). We have been duped by large multinational corporations with their propaganda and marketing as well as the goverment that money will solve our problems. A capitalistic society isn't sustainable in any sense. Fundamental problem in economics is that the world has a finite availability of resources, but people have unlimited wants and desires.
OP look past your materialistic desires, but if you still desire to have a 'designer' car, at least do it properly and get a Audi A5, not the poor mans Audi0 -

Nice one darkmatter.
A1 is a birds car, what gender do you think the OP is?0 -
They are pretty boring austere cars unless you raid the options list and then things get really expensive. (They are a Skoda Fabia underneath)
A colleague at work go one a year old but everything on it vaguely desirable was an option - larger alloys, panoramic roof, xenon lights with fancy daylights, leather sports seats, different coloured roof edge, sat nav etc. They added up to thousands of pounds worth - the headlights alone were a £2.5K extra. If you want something special look for a nearly new high spec car0 -

A1 is a birds car? Whoever made that up? I have seen men drive the A1 as well.
Also, I'm pretty sure most females would probably prefer a convertible Audi or even an A5 over an Audi A1 (if, like the OP, they have enough of a deposit for the lease/finance). Such people make me laugh0 -

He couldn't help himself on one of the first posts as a new account when he dropped M3, then quickly edited it.
On a side note, he sure gets home from school quick.0 -

When you grow up and get a job, you can spend your money as you wish. Just as the OP wants to0 -

£2.5k for headlights? Someone's pulling your leg.0 -
the ones I am looking at are a world away from my 09 Corsa :rotfl::rotfl:
This ones is a classic, the Audi A1 is "worlds away" from a Corsa.
So what exactly is the A3 compared to a Corsa then? A super quantum car based on advanced alien technology...unlike the Corsa which uses acient combustion cycle technology.
I think what is happening here is purely a psychological effect… when the OP checks out the A1, her perceived feelings of the A1 are grotesquely exaggerated because in her mind she’s thinking “Oh what would people think when they see me in an AUDI…how impressed they will be, I can’t wait to show off.”

How you all make me laugh with what you think you know about women
OP, good luck with your car buying - I'm another who would go with a 1-2 year old model rather than brand new.
