hello all!

I dip into this thread to read but don't post often. I was going to post this as a new thread but don't see as many "one off questions" on the OS board as there used to be, so thought I'd post here. So many wise people I always get great advice!

We had gorgeous slow roast beef yesterday (Aldi special!) and I have a lot left. It just fell apart so not in slices. Any idea what I can make for dinner for two with the leftovers? Working from home today as have a trip to the vets later so could pick up any extra ingredients if I need to.

Morning all,

up bright and early this morning. No good trying to get back to sleep when hubby leaves for work as he takes all the warmth out of the bed with him. Tuesday/Thursday when he is away I usually wrap myself in the quilt but I'm usually wide awake anyway when he leaves for work as he isn't exactly silent.

Lots of jobs to do today since I didn't get much done over the weekend but I'm glad I got my blood test out of the way.

I'm toying with the idea of giving Mom her Christmas present early. If she needs it, she needs it now and not in a few weeks time though I know i'll end up buying her something else for Christmas day. I just don't want to think of her being cold.

Nmlc, thinking of you on your first day back. I hope all goes well.

Onwards and forwards,

have a great day all.

• I've got to have a blood test this morning so I'm sitting here craving a cup of tea and toast but not able to eat anything as you have to fast from the night before.:D I'm going to get dressed and out and hope there isn't a big line of people waiting at the medical centre.

I want to order some fleece blankets to insulate my curtains. I was going to buy new curtains but I thought this would be far more :money:of me.

Morning :hello:

My partridge/red legged grouse (still not sure which it is) spent the day with the chickens yesterday, just flew into the run, pottered about with them and left at about 4pm :D Millie is the resident bully, I was expecting her to chase him away but she seemed quite taken with him. Here's a photo of him relaxing next to Lacy :D

I've just got in. I don't like going out on mondays, I like to give the house a good tidy after lazy weekends :D I'll get started in a mo, I need to warm up a bit first with a hot drink. I need to go fleece shopping I think, I've been so cold lately.

Hahaha that was me on Saturday morning. No food or drink from Friday evening. Got to the hospital I got given a ticket numbering 52. When I got in they were on 96..... Meanwhile the wafting smell of fresh coffee was making its way from the restaurant into the waiting room.:(

I'm sure some of the tests that the form requested, were repeated from the test I had a few weeks back. Oh well.

I seem to have got into a political war on Facebook. I really need to breathe and count to 10 and walk away.

I guess I wont be going to the reunion on Saturday after all.:rotfl:

That's very thoughtful of Docky.:D I did indeed have a couple of bikkits - I always have some cream crackers in the cupboard for these occasions.;)
I'm still quite washed out today, but the only tasks I absolutely have to do are throw the Dys0n round the bungalow, and construct a lasagne for tonight's and tomorrow's dins. Mr LW is wfh tomorrow, as he's got a follow-up appointment with the urologist tomorrow afternoon; I shall go with him for moral support, plus we can use my Blue Badge to park. I shan't feel much like cooking afterwards, so doing a 2-day meal today means we can just nuke and eat tomorrow.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hello all, hope everyone's OK. Did the weekly shop at Tesco this morning, after being a kind Mum and dropping DS16 at school. Also popped into Clintons and Marks for a few xmassy bits while I was out. All shopping unpacked, now need to do some hoovering and dusting.

Have decided to make my Dad and Nana small fruit cakes as part of their presents, have most ingredients in but will probably wait a few weeks and do them at the end of the month.

I think this is the first week in about 6 that we don't have a hospital appointment for DS16! He needs a blood test as on some new meds, but should be able to do that our local surgery. 2 appointments at the hospital next week though.

3 choir rehearsals this week and concert on Sunday, so that should keep me busy!

Hi there, I would use the beef in any dish that would use mince. Personally I would make burritos with tortilla wraps and a lovely home made tomatoey sauce with some cheese sprinkled on top.
