Ok, a few questions:
Can I use dried thyme instead of fresh? I've got dried.
What's chuck steak? Is that special?
Are the shallots used whole? If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Yes.
No. It's just stewing steak.

Anything red and french that doesn't taste of vinegar is okay to cook with. I wouldn't drink it though. _pale_

:hello: mrbe!
Any bottle of French red table wine will be fine for cooking, just don't be tempted to try a swig - it'll be vileOfficial DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
Right then, I'm going to Morrisons in a bit to buy stuff, and will be knocking up the marinade tonight, ready for cooking tomorrow. I'll cook it first thing, leave it in the SC while I'm at work, and add the mushrooms when I get home.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

This isn't especially MSE!I've just bought this lot:
£29.10 from Morrisons. Mind you, it's for 6 people, so that's a fiver each, which isn't so bad. I've swapped the broccoli for cauliflower, just because I prefer it.The rest is as per the recipe. I got fed up looking for burgundy, but found some "Good French Wine" which, I hope, does exactly what it says on the bottle.
I'm now doing nothing until I've had a cup of tea and a sit down for a bit.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
