My car is diesel (not through choice)

Down pipe has been welded that many times that the car is lower at the front by about 10mm now

    Diesel here too.
Front pipe cracked in 2, but inside was a sleeve, so it basically held itself together whilst it was welded.
Mate turned welder to max and it took it fine.
Only the once - wrapped a load of lagging round it just in case....
  • So harveybobbles advice may not have been useless?

Yeah it may not have been useless advice, but in fact it was, because the op had to have a new part fitted.

The op needed to provide more information, apologies if my reply grated you, but time and time again people ask for advice on this forum and leave important details out. Consequently people jump in with what is well intended advice, but in fact confuses the matter.
