Passport renewal time

Options
Blimey,

Did check and send Monday afternoon and received a text on Wednesday to say they have received it. Today (Thurs) they texted to say it's being printed so in theory it should arrive tomorrow.

Huge praise and there was me worried that my daughter wouldn't make New York for new year!

Last time I did our passports it took 3 days including, a change of name, a child's first passport and standard renewal all with different surnames to the same address.

    Excellent service.

Mine will be 4 days, a labour government may say that under Tory leadership, waiting times are up 25% or 10 times inflation

    Hung up my suit!
Got mine back within two weeks in August after applying via the Post Office who also kindly vouched for me on the form. The cost has also been reduced under the Tories. It does not always have to cost more to be better !!! ;)

Would have been back just as quick without the check and send and you would have saved yourself a couple of quid

Yes, I renewed mine. No check and send required because all the form needed was my name and address, my signature and two photos.

Sent it SD on Tuesday last week had a text on Thursday saying it was being printed and I had it in my hand on Saturday morning.

actually for £8 the check and send was a god send. However, what is a let down are the post office queues. When I got to the counter after a 40min wait, i was old the photos would be rejected as they had a tiny crease in each and i didnt write in each box S P A C E D O U T enough.

Its nice to pay a few quid and know it is unlikely to be rejected and that it is sent securely.

That's because the service use DX to deliver, and they have 'lifestyle couriers' - basically a lot of their end couriers are part-time workers using their own car or van.
Hermes and Yodel also do this (as do others) and it means you do sometimes get deliveries when you wouldn't expect them. :)

    And you believed them?

You do know they are no more trained to check a passport application than the checkout person in Tesco?

As for sent securely, they are sent no different to any other special delivery letter.

Post Office check and send is one of the biggest legal rip offs going.
