Thanks for thinking of us everyone
. We are home after a lovely couple of days.
The trip up on the train was uneventful and the first day was brilliant. We went to the Hard Rock cafe and then the Chinese Lantern light show at the zoo. DS2 loved taking photos of the lights and announced he might be a “picturist” when he’s older :rotfl:. I think that sounds so much better than photographer.
The second day was spent at the Christmas market and shopping around the city centre. All good. Then we went back to the hotel to go swimming (again!!). This was where it went a bit wrong. The fire alarms went off and we were evacuated, barefoot and in swimming things outside in Scotland in December . It was freezing. They gave us some hotel slippers and those silver blanket things, but we were outside for about 20 minutes. I could’ve cried.
This morning was spent leisurely having breakfast, swimming and packing, before getting the train home. We’ve just got Oakley back so all is well again.
Speaking of Oakley, I’ve won him a hamper of dog treats now. Very spoiled pooch Xx
