  • Hi PLMBL

Hope you ended up getting your night out

Very nice of your dh's friend to stay for a coffee instead of the bike ride, he obviously realises how the bike ride really helps you too. what a nice guy x

Lovely that school is closed now. Just to not have to make packed lunches makes me smile and thats before I think of all the horrendous mothers I have to face at the school gates everyday. :T

Do you have much left to organise for Christmas? I really ought to be cleaning the house, not chatting on here, but everyone deserves a break xx
  • Ah Lucky paramedic friend sounds like a true friend to both of you. He obviously understands you more than we think.

I finished the Christmas cleaning, card making & posting the final few, & did the last few bits of shopping for my friend. I am now officially done and just need to sit with MOTD and hot chocolate tonight and wrap those last few bits :) so chuffed!

Even got myself a little gift today on a 3 for 2 at B00ts. Was already buying 2 other things so flung a beautiful journal with matching pen in for me and it was free :D it's by the bed. I debated wrapping it but then thought nah, I have enough of Jellys presents to unwrap when she gets bored :rotfl:

Hope you got out on your night out & DH behaved ;) xx

  • Afternoon all! Busy few days and my feet haven't touched the ground so I've claimed an hour to just sit down and chill while catching up on diaries.

The Carol Service was lovely on Friday and brought a tear to my eye. I'm very emotional at the minute for some reason and it started me off! Such lovely singing by the littlies. We then went back to the school for refreshments and raffle draw but didn't win anything. DH and I then finished the Christmas shopping and I did most of the wrapping for Santa.

I did indeed get my night out on Friday and it was brilliant. I danced all night and had a right laugh. I only had 2 (large!) glasses of wine all night and had water too, so I was still ok incase DH was poorly through the night (which he wasn't thankfully) and because I knew I had a busy day yesterday. I got home at 1am and DS2 helpfully got up at 6.30am so I was shattered to start with but then I had a kids party 11am-1pm, lunch with family straight after, followed by a rush job to get to work on time. I was asleep on my feet by 9pm!!

I've left us quite short for money again and we've got about £10 to last us until Wednesday. It's do-able because we are visiting friends tomorrow morning which is free obviously, and then we are seeing Santa in the afternoon which is already booked and paid for. We just have to have a cheap Tuesday also which shouldn't be hard. I'm annoyed with myself for not having more available, but on the other hand we do have money in the savings account if we desperately need something. This was my Christmas savings which I've managed not to use so it's now DS2's birthday party fund for January.

DH and I had a bit of a fall out earlier. He's been very slow the last few days and if I'm totally honest it's been getting on my nerves. He wants to help and I know it's not his fault but it's easier to just do things myself instead of having to explain things over and over, wait for him to do it wrong and then do it myself anyway. He asked what he could have for lunch so I gave him 3 choices and he picked 'choice 4' which I hadn't even mentioned. He then said I shouted at him for getting it wrong, which I didn't think I did but to be fair I was so fed up I might have been less than nice in my response. I've put up with 10 days of mood swings from him and then I'm totally in the wrong for having one of my own. Everyone keeps telling me I have the patience of a Saint, but right now I feel like I have none. We have talked about it and made up (and I had a wee cry while I was doing the ironing and no one was watching!) but I still feel like I just want to go off on my own and hide for a while.

Thanks Steph. Yes PM is a good'un and I'm lucky DH has him. I'm pleased that school is finished too, but I'm sorry to hear you have awful mothers at your school gates! I must be one of the lucky ones as all our lot are lovely! Sometimes chatting to them (and you lot on here) is the only thing that keeps me sane!!

Regarding Christmas, if it isn't bought now then it's tough!!

Glad you got yourself something nice Lilt! I did the same thing at B00ts as I needed 2 things anyway, so I got myself a So@p & Gl0ry gift set for free and gave it to DH and the boys to wrap up for me for Christmas! My SW Consultant gave me a £10 Mr A voucher for Christmas (I'm the weigh in lady, she didn't give everyone one :rotfl:), so I bought the Ed Sheeran CD and gave that to them to give me too. So I have 2 presents and they didn't cost me anything :T.

  • Hi PLMBL

So sorry to hear you are feeling a little low at the moment. Hardly surprising as you have enough to deal with without all the extra stresses Christmas prep brings.

    BIG HUGS to you.......

I often get emotional and have a private cry about stuff, and its a very lonely feeling crying on your own. I just wish I was nearby to give you a real hug and help out xxx

Hopefully you are past the worst of the prep for Christmas, have a quiet hour in the bath with bubbles, try to find some time for yourself and then you might recharge a little to cope with hubby's eccentricities. ;):o

    xxxxx
  • Thank you both for your lovely messages, and the much needed hugs.

The rest of today has been more chilled out, as we watched The Polar Express film as a family and then DH, DS1 and I watched Men In Black 3 after DS2 went to bed. We actually have MIB 3 on dvd and must've watched it 15 times or more (most recently in the summer), but DH watched the whole thing with wonder as if it was the first time he'd ever seen it. No memories of it were sparked at all and he genuinely couldn't remember ANY of it.

I'm now watching surprise surprise and crying again! Xx

Glad you had a fab night out but sorry to hear about Mr Lucky's behaviour. It must be something to do with brain injuries as Mr SA is just the same. I get so frustrated at times with him, he is so slow to understand the simplest of things. Then other times he says hurtful things, he is always accusing me of not paying enough attention to him. So I completely understand your feelings although it must be extra hard for you as you have your two boys to look after as well. Christmas is the worst time for fallouts as you're expected to be all jolly. Sending hugs your way xx

    Hope today's a good one :)
