  • It's only because I have holidays to use or lose! Must admit, although I only work a few hours a week, I'm still looking forward to the break. It takes a lot of effort to get DH and the boys looked after and have everything in place so it will tick over while I'm out. Xx

  • Oh WOW!! What a Christmas break indeed. I don't care if you have to use holiday up and it's only a few hours a week. It makes all the difference not waiting for that 'day' each week where you have to be on someone elses time! So nice that it coincides with leaving Beavers! (Well done you, I know it must have been hard because you are indeed such a giver!)

Time to concentrate on Lucky for a little while. And I would still arrange MiL to come for the work hours if it was me... and poddle off down the PUB! I'm not a drinker, but you need some time out ;)

DS1 and DS2 both sound like adorable well behaved little fellas, well deserving of Santa's visit this year. Their mum too... glad you got some Beavers presents.

And I like Queen V ;) it's Charlotte I am sometimes none too fond of :o they are all a bit too lairy for me mind you, but then, they get paid to do that! ;)

Big snoggers to you missus. Lots achieved this week. xx

  • Oooooh hope i'm not to late. My round :beer:.

Good to hear things are going well Lucky. Like the others have said, make sure you use this time to do something for YOU. And ONLY YOU!!. Even for a few hours per week. Find something cheapish that you can nip off out to do each week.

    Pub
    Window shopping.
    Walk in a park
Cheap treatment (Manicure at local college)

Or my favourite - Having breakfast in a cafe on my own with my Kindle = Heaven

Something anything to keep those batteries of yours charged.

What bliss to be off work until February - enjoy! Sounds like you're echoing my "party animal" lifestyle at the moment :) You don't know how pleased I am for you that you're sounding so upbeat at the moment.

  • My round, what's everyone having?!

Thank you for all the lovely cheery messages. I will indeed try to rope MiL in to having everyone for a few hours while I partake in something lovely!

So this morning I had a lovely time with several of the Mums from school. I splashed out and had toast and jam :D and it was lovely just to have a general chit chat. DH was supposed to be going for a cycle ride with paramedic mate while I was there, but he had a bit of a dodgy tummy and didn't fancy getting caught short somewhere. Paramedic mate therefore came to the house while I was out which was good of him.

I then went shopping to get what I thought was the last of the present shopping, but then DS1 mentioned a game tonight that I'd forgotten to buy so I will get that too and then I'm done.

DS2 had a dress down day at school today and the 'price' was a donation to the local foodbank, which I thought was an awesome idea. If it wasn't for my wonderful extended family we would have had no choice but to visit the foodbank when DH had his accident, and I like to help those who aren't as fortunate as we were. I only spent a few pounds but I was able to donate a huge carrier bag full of things and it felt good :D.

Tomorrow is the boys' last day at school. DS1 is going to the cinema with his year group and DS2 is having a Carol Service at the church which we are going to. I'm hoping to fit in present wrapping too and then it's done, and of course it's my night out. I've painted my nails tonight in anticipation of all going well and being able to actually go! DH is under instruction to behave and not have any episodes before, during or after the event :rotfl:. Xx
