  • Evening SA, Bubblesmum et al.

Don't seem to have 5 minutes to myself at the moment. The last few days have disappeared in a flurry of school music performances, open afternoons, hedge cutting, dentist and having family over for a meal! Shattered!

Lost 1.5lbs at chub club making 8lbs in the last 2 weeks :T.

Yesterday should've been a NSD but I had to buy a birthday card last minute. Still achieved more NSDs this month than the last couple of months put together though, so I'm happy.

Both boys will be off school next Tuesday due to strike :T. Was desperately hoping they would both be off, nothing worse than one off and one in!

DH a bit 'funny' tonight :(.

Hope DH feeling funny hasn't turned into anything.
Hope you enjoy having the 2 boys off.
    Keep going.
  • Thanks Doobop!

DH has been ok, nothing major occured. He has upset me though with a weight related comment so I'm not his friend anymore .

So July already! Someone needs to tell the weather though, sick of the rain :(. DS1 had his school fair after school yesterday, so £10 spent there. DS2's is tomorrow but that will probably cost more as there are usually more rides etc.

Grandma in hospital again, this time with food poisoning .

    Work later, meh.

Glad Mr Lucky ok in health if not in temper. Ignore his hurtful comments, he has brain damage, Mr SA is often the same. Resist the urge to thump him :)

Sick of the rain here too - today has been one minute sunny, next raining. Hope your grandma feels better soon. You are so lucky to still have a grandma, my mum's mum died 5 years before I was born and my dad's mum died when I was 12 :(

Your poor grandma. I hope she is better soon. I seem to have missed a few posts and now you have a new roof. Great news that MIL has stepped in to help. We need repointing done on a chimney and I know Mr P finds it frustrating that he can't do it. Must have been difficult for your DH.

  • Morning all! Thanks for the well wishes about Grandma. She's 81, and still lives in her own home without any help (apart from family), so she does really well. Grandad died 20 years ago :(. They are keeping her in hospital just to keep an eye on her and build her back up really, but she's ok. My other Grandma passed away on my 22nd birthday and I never met her husband (Dad's Dad) as he died before I was born. I'm sorry you lost yours so young SA.

Yesterday DH went to a car show with Best Mate so I got a 'day off'. I was ready for it after he upset me on Friday, but I surprised myself by missing him!! The boys and I went to DS1's school fair which was good, not least because the sun shone, but it did cost £20.

Pooh, we had birds nesting in the wooden facets of the roof so we thought we just needed that boxed in again, but when they got up there the true horror was revealed! Not sure whether the house was keeping the roof up or the roof was keeping the house up, but all the wood was rotten, the outer layer of bricks were bulging and letting water in (explains the damp in my bedroom), and half the rendering cracked and was so loose it was about to fall off!!! Thankfully, FiL's best friend is still a family friend and a master builder by trade, so we got it all done 'cheaply'. They are almost finished the rendering and it looks great. I keep consoling myself with the idea that it needed done or we would never be able to sell it on in the future, and at least we caught it before the roof fell in! MiL says we've borrowed from our inheritance!
