Ah I wish Beanie, I've got a massive family and still have loads to buy for even though we've cut right back too. I don't begrudge it though, I wouldn't be without them and they are all very generous in return. DS1 wants a £300 games console . That's 3 times what I normally spend. He won't be getting one unless I win one!

Have a look in the Black friday deals...... PS4 have released a 1gb so I suspect the 500mg will be going cheap!

  • Thanks Mrs H, will do. It's a PS4 he's after. Xx Beanie, I'll have a look but it's quite a new console he's wants, not sure how many second hand ones are available.

SA, I'm itching for the cheque to clear to get it booked :D.

Didn't do a great deal yesterday as both boys wanted a chill out day at home. Work was manically busy and a shock to the system after 3 weeks off, but it was nice to see everyone. Not a NSD as I grabbed some shopping when I finished.

Today we've been swimming and doing homework etc. Weather has been horrible so we've been glad to be in the house and in our onesies this afternoon :p. I've listed a couple of things on eb@y too.

Would any of the grand parents contribute at all?
My mum & I used to share the cost of bigger items.

So how old is DS1 now (rhetorical question only). Old enough for you to know that whatever he says he wants, you will not be able to afford! Even if you were a millionaire his requests would be too high. This is the nature of the beast. So relax, get him what you can afford and stop worrying. Just wait until he is much, much older and can't understand why you cannot be available from 8 to 6 to take delivery of something. I have come to think that sometimes children's sole purpose in life is to be a pain in the butt. If they weren't we would never get them out of the house. Oh! mine is still at home aged 34 and I would swear he is younger now than he was at 14 in some ways.

Just read Beanie's comment & it is a very good idea. He is definitely old enough to understand joint presents.
