Glad your cat is ok, there's always something isn't there. As you know I'm the same. I used to go to Bums and Tums - it's a killer but worth the pain.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Really feeling it now SA. Hurts to stand up/sit down/cough/sneeze/bend :rotfl:.

DS2 said he felt poorly not long after I posted this morning, so it ended up just DH and MiL going out. Then the calpol kicked in and both boys went to play in next door's garden so I had peace and quiet :j.

DH is a bit vague tonight. Think he needs to go to bed!

Glad Puss-Cat is ok* and fingers crossed that DH is too. The exercise class sounds sheer hell, so hope it works as you wish!

    * £20 for a GA to remove a tooth, an antib. jab afterwards plus advice to you and TLC for pet? Wow - seriously impressed with your vet! :T
  • Robin she removed it without a GA as it was very loose, but cat did have a pain killing injection, antibiotic injection and a thorough check up :D. Xx

Even without a GA am very impressed - you'd pay at least twice that total bill to walk through the doorway of any vet in this toon Doon Sarf, before any consultation and treatment!
  • Glad things seem slightly on the up in the last few posts. I picked up on the fact you say you feel like you haven't 'done' much with the boys this summer. I think your memory is playing tricks on you - you did lots of amazing things with them when they first broke up from school, and managed to get away for a few days didn't you? probably just seems like ages ago so don't go feeling guilty. Well done on the slimming award too! Back to school soon and next summer you'll probably be debt free, whoop!
  • That's kind of you to say Nicky, but we really haven't been too far this summer. We did have a few days away at Easter though, and we've had some nice days out locally the last few weeks. I knew I was almost debt free but that hadn't equated in my head to being debt free by next summer if that makes sense, so thank you for pointing that out to me as it has made me :j:j.

The boys only have one more week off and I'm absolutely gutted! Can't believe they are going back so soon :(:(.

  • Sorry if I got it wrong Lucky but I thought you had stayed overnight somewhere with MIL? Either way you've done very well on a limited budget and maybe next year can be a little more extravagant!?

I think you are the only parent I know who wants the holidays to be longer which is lovely to hear, most mums (of school age kids) I know are counting down the days lol. Only 4 years until I know how I'll feel - my baba is only 6 months old but it feels like she was only born last week so I know it will fly by!
  • Nicky it goes by so quickly, cherish every day. Can't believe my big lad is 11 in less than a fortnight .

Went to the Mela today and loved it, apart from the typical Bank Holiday pour down. We got absolutely drenched. Came home late afternoon, put pjs on and we all watched a film with hot chocolate. Bliss, but a day better suited to Winter than August!

  • 3 years today since DH's first seizure , which occurred 15 months after the accident. How time flies!

So, 1st of the month (Happy September everyone!) and time for a debt total update. £1445 owed, which isn't quite as low as I'd hoped but it's heading in the right direction. 3 NDS's in August which isn't bad for the kids being off, and more importantly no full TC seizures :j.

Been swimming at our normal pool this morning and off to the park this afternoon before chub club. Desperately hoping to have lost 2.5lbs to get my 4 stone award, which I promised myself I'd get by my birthday and that only gives me this week and next.
