Nexus 7 stuck on Google screen

My Nexus 7 has suddenly refused to boot past the Google screen
It was working fine, this morning
I have tried a soft reset - but the damned thing still shows the same screen
A hard reset (pressing vol up/down & power at the same time) fails to do anything ..
Any suggestions ?

If its still under warranty return it. Otherwise the batteries needs unplugging. The back will come off if you gently start at the top. There are videos on youtube showing how.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

Use a plastic tool to remove the back (to prevent screw driver damage), unplug the battery and see what happens.

I was wrong - just checked and discovered that the device is 11 months 25 days old - trying to contact Google for a warranty claim
It was bought from PC world - but I have no receipt and there is no serial number or other unique identifier on the outside of the case !!

SOGA is with the vendor not the manufacturer .
Though the manufacturer may offer an additional limited warranty .

I have also emailed PC world - but don't expect much help from them - this problem appears to be a "KNOWN" problem - so if necessary, I will contact the ombudsman.
The problem being that I have no proof of purchase
(it was purchased for me by my employers under Access to Work) - and my employers do not have the receipt either - I understand that the receipt went somewhere to DWP !!

What ombudsman and most ombuds require you to go through the vendors procedures first .
Receipt >>cheque credit card etc payment details should be ok .

If you bought it with a credit or debit card you could use your credit card or bank statement.
