Hi Sammy, glad that you have heard from DS. Even if things remain difficult there, you know he is ok, and that must be a weight off your mind.
Now, concentrate on the things that you CAN change. Have a bit of a brainstorm - grab a coffee and a pad of paper and pen and get scribbling - what do you eat, where are you going wrong, do you nibble between meals, do you comfort eat, etc
Do you get up and do some exercise, do you fancy going for a walk or a jog, are you better with an exercise DVD - do you need to buy a new one off ebay, etc
Debtwise - things are not going up, so that is good - re-motivate yourself by doing a challenge, sorting out a car boot etc.
Hope you have a good weekend, you can do this, you know you can xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Are you trying to cheer him up?
It may be that he enjoys the attention you bestow when he's miserable and you're trying to cheer him.
You could always try to catastophise his problems. To "over-egg" his problems as it were...
I am not sure I am always trying to cheer him up.. More make him realise that actually he is a selfish bleeder, and that he measures how happy his life is by how much he can buy (which is not much at the moment).
I am not a very sympathetic person to be honest and I think his problem is that I dont pay him ENOUGH attention.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

COME ON SAMMY you can loose weight, you must find a way of trying!! It will be the best thing you have ever done, you will thank yourself forever. Also, i know its random, but did you know that your chemical receptors that influence your moods and emotions are based in your GUTS not your brain (hence why you get butterflies in your tummy), so thats why a change in diet can change not just your figure but also your mood. (christ i sound like Gillian Mackeith)! Your stress will get better with a better diet.
I'd be delighted if in 6 months i saw a post on this forum saying you have lost half a stone or whatever.
Re: your debts - if its not going up, thats a result in itself so at least you have a lid on it :T . It wont happen over night, but keep going and one day your credit card balance will be £0.
A friend of mine called round yesterday, she looked great and she actually hadn't lost a lot of weight - she had toned up by going the gym.. I used to go to the gym a lot, but since having my little one I haven't had the time or the motivation (mainly motivation). Last week I ran the Race for life 5k in 34 mins (with the help of my daughter) and I was dead chuffed (couldn't move for 3 days mind!). It helped with the eating as I felt good and didn't want to undo the good feeling.
Keep your eye on the forum.. You never know - If i have lost half a stone in six months I would be pretty chuffed myself..Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Sea and Hypno...
Thanks for your support. Its good to know that someone else has been brave enough to go self-employed whilst in debt as it seemed to be a bit foolish as I was doing okay at managing money and now it feels like I have gone back a bit......
I have posted about my run and I am going to book to do another one in September. Hopefully i will be able to beat the 34 mins....and it will help with the food..
I think I may need to keep an daily diary with regard to my emotions, to see if there are any triggers that make me eat.
I had the idea that i need to earn an extra £20 per day to pay off my debts and I am going to try and earn that over the next month by selling stuff, ebaying, matched betting, anything. See if I can do it for a month. By then I may have been paid for the work I have been doing and I may make some headway..
Thanks girlsQuality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

£20 a day, or £100 a week is a great target, because it is achievable, but yet it makes such a huge difference.
Until I bought bloody laptop, this has been the way I have worked - break it down into smaller chunks like £20 a day, weekdays only!! makes it seem much easier than £400 a month!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
