I am a bit fed up
1. Can't lose weight.
2. Can't get rid of the debt
3. My son is missing
4. OH is a miserable bleeder (mostly permanently)
5. Seem to veer wildly from one 'drama' to another.
However, things could be worse
1. We both earn money
2. Debt isn't going up (its not going down either!)
3. We all have our health
4. Life is never boring.
Sorry just needed to get that one of my chest!
Hi, sorry to hear about your son being illusive... must be a worrying time. Take the below as constructive inspirational advice...here it goes....
1. Cant loose weight - OH YES YOU CAN. Only some very rare medical conditions prevent people loosing weight, some just find it harder than others. How many times a week do you go for a run? If never, try once. If 3 times a week try every day. If everyday for 30 mins try ever day for 45 minutes. I simply do not buy the comment that you can't - if you wanted to you could.
2. Cant get rid of debt - presumably you are paying the debt off every month?? And are paying off more than you are spending?? Or I take it you have cut your cards up? Obviously you are on 0% for all your cards?
cant help with 3.4.5
The point i am trying to make is that you can make a difference if you are not happy. It means going through a pain barrier - but it will be worth it.
I was in a position once where the bank wrote to me and told me to come in and hand my cheque book back thats how bad it got. At 22 i had £4k on my credit card. But i just had to go ultra poor for a while it was very uncomfortable, but now i dont have any credit cards, havent been into my overdraft for 2 years and have to do without the things i sometimes want to keep it this way.
I'm a 28 year old bloke, and up until about 24 i only weighed 8 1/2 stone, under weight for my height, i thought i couldnt put ON weight. I put myself through a gruelling diet and fitness regime, it was nasty, but now i am the perfect weight for my height (5'6'').
So if you want the changes, some of them on your list above are absolutely acheivable, they just dont come on a plate.
just go for it and prove yourself wrong.I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk

Sammy, I'm so glad he's been in touch. That must be a load off your mind. He will grow up - being 18 doesn't last for ever.

Thanks f0r the advice.. You are right. The only person stopping me losing
weight is me! I simply eat too much, but time management and stress influence my ability to eat sensibly.
As for the debt - I was paying it off every month, but having recently gone self employed its become difficult. As for 0% credit cards (whats one of them!). I am 42 with 25k of debt. And whilst my debt hasn't gone down it hasn't gone up either, and that is despite two periods of unemployment for OH and one for me...

So was I - but he wanted to be the only one! Never mind, he sent me a nice PM the next morning. That thread certainly touched a few nerves, I hope it made you chuckle to distract you from your woes at the time.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
It did actually... This forum always manages to make me feel not so alone.. It doesn't really matter what people say (or it does, but the positive usually outweigh the negative). ~Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and its nice that we can say what we feel through the anonynominity (or something like that) of not knowing each other.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Are you trying to cheer him up?
It may be that he enjoys the attention you bestow when he's miserable and you're trying to cheer him.
You could always try to catastophise his problems. To "over-egg" his problems as it were..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

COME ON SAMMY you can loose weight, you must find a way of trying!! It will be the best thing you have ever done, you will thank yourself forever. Also, i know its random, but did you know that your chemical receptors that influence your moods and emotions are based in your GUTS not your brain (hence why you get butterflies in your tummy), so thats why a change in diet can change not just your figure but also your mood. (christ i sound like Gillian Mackeith)! Your stress will get better with a better diet.
I'd be delighted if in 6 months i saw a post on this forum saying you have lost half a stone or whatever.
Re: your debts - if its not going up, thats a result in itself so at least you have a lid on it :T . It wont happen over night, but keep going and one day your credit card balance will be £0.

Hi Sammy,As for the debt - I was paying it off every month, but having recently gone self employed its become difficult. As for 0% credit cards (whats one of them!). I am 42 with 25k of debt. And whilst my debt hasn't gone down it hasn't gone up either, and that is despite two periods of unemployment for OH and one for me...
If it makes you feel any better, I am self-employed and 43 with 38k of debt! (and that's not the whole picture). My debt is going down but slowly, it's gone up a lot this month. We can do it!!
And that goes for weight as well. I'm lucky that weight isn't an issue for me, but fitness is. I recently joined a beginner's groups at the local running club. Something I never thought I'd do, but I'm so glad I did. I feel fitter already after just three sessions. Plus I really enjoy it!
Now the worry of your son has lifted a bit, perhaps you can find more energy to do the other things you want to do, whether it's finding ways to reduce the debt, eating better, or something completely different.
So I'm sending a bunch of good vibes and hope you have a good weekend.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
