Thomson claims older than 2 years?

Options
So what moves have been made for Thomson to start paying off folk who have had claims stayed for their two year Montreal nonsense?

Has anyone made contact with Thomson and perhaps been told payment is being processed?

For me not a word. I have written to the court asking for them to press on with the claim as Thomson lost their appeals.

In the absence of any positive response, I think that's all you can do. But in so doing, you'll win.
  • Yeah I am just curious where other shipmates are in this boat. Sorry I started a new thread just wanted to take this out of the general line of chat. Thomson haven't written to me saying I can expect payment - let's put it that way.

I reckon they are really sore. They must be feeling like a Pelican. Wherever they look they see a massive bill in front of their eyes.

They ran out of runway. We need a picture of a jumbo that's run out of runway and put some kind of caption like - "Thomson Airway's Legal Team".

    This is very Milliganesque:

A wonderful bird is the pelican
Its beak can hold than its belly can
    Enough food for a week
It can hold in its beak
And I'm damned if I know how the Hell he can.

Yes I emailed them as soon as I heard on the 31st and have had an offer for payment in full today plus 5% which I have accepted:rotfl: 6 days to reply cant fault them on their fast reply to be fair as I would be the first to slate them if they carried on stringing me along

I've emailed the court (cc'd Thomson) asking for my stay to be lifted with immediate effect. Have just been re-reading my original complaint letter from 2009 and calculating the additional interest incurred since my claim was submitted 2yrs ago so I'm all ready with a £ settlement figure...just in case I get a call like jenn1ewest1 :)

Five years @ 8% should be most welcome before Christmas!
  • I've sent a new Letter Before Action after the ruling last week. Not heard yet but will update when I do. I'm coming up 6 years and so will need to start a money claim at MCOL in the next couple of weeks to avoid missing out after this long stall by Thomson.

Remember that you can only use MCOL if you're claiming for one passenger only. If you're up against the 6 year deadline, and parts or all of a claim is struck out for this or any other technicality, you'll be out of time. So give yourself a cushion and do it on the N1 paper form (if it's for more than one person).

Thanks, I didn't realise that. Is that still the case if the other passengers are children and there was only the one bill payer? In fact, what if the other passengers were children at the time of the flight but are now over 18?
