I thought it was just me. I have an Oregan Scientific clock in my bedroom - average temperatures has been about 16.8 at Midnight, 18-19 during the day and that is with a window open a bit 365. I never used to sleep with a window open, but now its normal, with a 4.5 tog duvet on the bed, all year round. Best sleep ever.

House temperature (according to thermostat on landing) on average without heating on is about 17 deg at night, 18+ deg during the day. If I put heating on, I only up thermostat 2 degrees, to warm upper house, and that is if its very cold. Last night a good example. Outside temp fell to 3 degrees.

I like a cool room to sleep in, but 13 degs, would be my limit.

They can recommend what they like, but while I still have control of my thermostat, not them, they can stick it where I wouldn't go for any amount of money.

Not for long, smart meters will override anything you can do, Big Brother is here to tell you what you can and can't do.

Unless smart meters can turn on and plug in wall sockets or push buttons on a boiler, no they can't

I often think when i see on the news pictures of some of these homeless people sleeping with only a cardboard box and binbag for cover, how i'd manage if i found myself in that position.

    - most of what at first sight appears to be "homeless people sleeping with only a cardboard box and binbag for cover"
    - have an alcohol [vasodilator] level that helps considerably lower the core temperature of their body
    - but the uber imbibed 'feel' warmer from the extra blood warming their [dilation effect] skin
    - then they get up in the morning get a 'GreGGs' and start their new day with copious volumes of cheap alcohol

Smart meters, sigh - tin-foil brigade are out again !

I don't care about the temperature once I'm in bed, the duvet keeps me toasty warm :)
