Toyota Yaris Daytime Lights

Citroen DS4 can have its DRL turned off. Just use the stalk.
Some people think that because their car has DRL's then it means the headlights must be on.
Amazes me how many people you see with just DRL's on at night:
Jukes and Evoques seem to be the main one that annoy me as the rear lighjts dont come on unless you turn the "actual" lights on.0 -
That's the other issue, they may be more dangerous as people don't bother putting lights on in dull or rainy conditions.
Like on a motorway when it's raining hard and dull, just drl's 9/10 times.0 -
Re spare wheels and jacks.
Having taken delivery of our new Jazz in late September, we found that we could fit the previously purchased space saver wheel in the new car, but that the enclosed foam insert would not then sit on top of the wheel. There was a gunk bottle for punctures, but no jack! Our lovely salesman said he didn't think the 2015 model came with a jack! (Yes I know, 2015!)
Sorted for us by a visit back to the Dealers four days after purchase of the car.
Our original Jazz was still on the forecourt with a convenient space next to it. So, with salesmans permission, we swap foam inserts, also take jack from old car. I was happy to give him the twenty quid hydraulic jack I had got from Lidl the day before, and boy did the springs of our old car wheeze when he dropped it into the back!
Finally, the opportunity to take a picture of two pretty identical looking cars, with the same registration number. Sorted!0 -
Just about any vehicle with DRLs only has the front lights on unless you turn the actual lights on.harveybobbles wrote: »Jukes and Evoques seem to be the main one that annoy me as the rear lighjts dont come on unless you turn the "actual" lights on.
TBH, I'm starting to think autolights ought to be mandatory on DRL-equipped vehicles for this very reason.
DRLs have been around long enough that nobody should be surprised at a car in daytime with lights on. If you think they're dazzling oncoming traffic, then turn the headlights onto dip, and the DRLs will go off.0 -
Nobody should be dazzled by dipped lights in day time. There's less contrast during daylight.0
-
Nobody should be dazzled by dip beam at any time, because there's a strict and regulated shape for the light coming from them. Which there isn't for the - sometimes - eye-zapping multi-directional LEDs of DRLs.0

Pretty sure lexus and toyotas can be turned off via an obd2 device and android software
Edit - infact

Whoops - didn't realise this is an old thread. So I have deleted my comment because the person I addressed may not have an opportunity to respond."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0

OBD2 device and soft app take 20$ or so, but Toyota Techstream cable can also achieves these settings0

A new black Avensis pulled out of a junction ahead of me - nice bright LEDs at the front, NOTHING at the back, and he caused other people to slow down.
It's dangerous for numpties driving round with no lights when they should be on, and it's just as dangerous for them to think they can be seen, when in fact they can only be seen from the front.0
