What about one of those hanging box type shoe racks. You wouldn't need to bend at all.

Are you thinking of getting new (and hopefully nicer) lodgers or are you going to leave it for a while?

    A difficult one.
At the end of the day my feeling is that I need to keep a room in the house for my DS. At the end of the day whatever the rights & wrongs of the situation are he is my only DS & I love him to the moon & back. This has been his home for over 20 years.

    Hi

Any scope for Air BnB in your neck of the woods or Monday-Friday lodgers on a week or fortnight by fortnight basis? If your DS wanted to come home then it's more flexible?

After all, you have new carpet ;) so would be good to show it off to more than the cats (or was it dogs?)

    Have a great weekend

  • Hello Lou,

A night of interrupted sleep here, and so a great opportunity to catch up with your diary.

Had no idea of the trouble you had with the "lodgers" last weekend. How soon will they be gone? As an impartial observer, I would think it would be better if they had their own place, maybe your relationship with DS would be easier, as there would not be all those opportunities for small annoyances of life to grow and make him say things that are not fair or cruel. Reading between the lines, it seems that happens to him a fair bit, and you are left to deal with the aftermath. Im not sure that this arrangement is healthy for either of you. Can you deal with those negative feelings on top of what you're already dealing with? Just looking out for you and wanting to reassure you that you consistently come across on here as thoughtful and kind. Joining in with the dodgy hug. :grouphug:

    Hope this weekend is better.

Sometimes those difficult conversations need to be had, to shake things up and make change happen. It is by not accepting everything from others that we teach them how to treat us. I think you may have just imposed some boundaries and got a kickback of a reaction. Don't worry, they are adults, they will have to deal with the consequences of their actions.

More dodgy hugs to you :grouphug:

    Thank you catriona.
    What you say is true.
I have said this to DS on more than one occasion.
However I personally have much more of an issue with the GF.
I really hope that they are flat hunting.
I will miss DS. However two ladies of different generations attitudes and ideas are not a match made in heaven. To be clear it is not DS who is unkind.
