I don't know an explicit answer to the dressing question, but some thoughts:

    - B00ts seems to have some quite big dressings with wide self adhesive margins - might be worth asking for a consult with the pharmacist or one of the behind the counter team?

    - Put a light tubular bandage over the wound and dressing, so even if the edges start curling in the night, the exposed edges will be less likely to get stuck to bedding and come off completely?

    - If it's that bad, do you need a stitch or two, or some steri strips to hold the edges of the 'hole' together to give it chance to close up / heal?

Hope this doesn't contravene MSE guidelines. Purely intended as suggestions not actual medical advice!

Sorry to hear about the fall ☹️ Dressings wise I always keep a roll of that white dressings tape in my first aid kit. It’s super sticky. Micropore tape.

I’m sure if you let a friend know, they would help with the kitchen. It’s dreadful that you were so badly hurt but at least it happened after you had seen ds as I know you don’t like him to be concerned

Actually one of my friends is a practise nurse. I may message her. Oh maybe not. She will have a fit if she hears that I fell backwards and make yet more impractical suggestions 🤔
