There’s a mug coven here too … mostly Mr KK’s … as is most of the stuff in this house! 😉😂

How about getting ALL the mugs out at once.
Deciding immediately which ones are emotionally important - they stay.
Then, have a couple of ‘workmen’s mugs’ - so big, chunky, robust, not too worried if they get chipped / broken.
Then define mugs for visitors - would 4 be enough for that, on top of the emotional mugs?
    Then the rest, GO! 😉

    As at 15.10.25:
    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £229,702
    - OPs to mortgage = £12,345 Estd. interest saved = £5,863 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030

    Read 60 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 30th October
    Produce tracker: £426 of £300 in 2025

With the mugs, keep the ones you love and get rid of the rest.  If you love them all can you repurpose some?  Pen holder, plant pot etc?

    Hurrah for the kitchen!

I started by deciding how much space I had for mugs which in turn dictated how many I could keep.  I then removed the ones that would be my last choice to drink from, the ones that only get used if someone hasn't turned the DW on for days, the ones that 'would do', the pretty but impractical until I got down to the ones that I like, that I use regularly and that fit in the available space even if the DW is empty.  I kept two of the chunky ones to use with the builders.

The jury is still out on some huge but thin china cups that are just a bit too heavy for me once full of tea. I may repurpose them for the garden - bulb in plant pot in the mug - because Mr Redo loved them.
