Police phoned back.  They don't seem too bothered.  They think it was someone trying to get into the wrong the wrong house. I am not convinced.  It's a quiet cul-de-sac..  Very unerving.  No one terribly happy.  DS, my maw or me.  Got a banging sore head. Will see what tonight brings.

How frightening for you. Hope it was just a drunk getting the house mixed up and not something untoward. There seems to be a spate of this kind of thing happening lately unfortunately. The trouble is there’s no police presence anymore like there used to be. They need to patrol at night like they used to.
Agree that there is no police presence & no neighbourhood police any more.

  • Ditto above, can you get yourself a doorbell with camera on, it will switch on automatically and record anyone that might be trying their luck? A little sign near your house with CCTV on might be a good deterrent too? Cost of feeling safe - you can't put a price on it!

Police have called in this morning. Was going to go out to the doctor when they drove up. Just as well I know why they were coming. There have been other instances in the area. They are also suggesting a ring door bell.  I felt quite shaken after they went away.
Headed to dr after they left. Have been referred back to clinic for my ‘problem’. The tablet I currently take is gold star or something of treatment. Sigh.

  • Sorry to hear this happened to you Beanie , I would also recommend a ring doorbell asap.

In my last house many neighbours put dummy cameras up that looked like the real thing. Signs to say CCTV and beware of the dog (even if they didn't have one) as we had a few instances up the street where cars had been broken into and doors tried. I think they soon moved on when they thought there was someone watching them...so maybe a few deterrents (cheap off Bay of E or somewhere?) and a ring doorbell
Hope your referral doesn't take too long to come through ♥️
