Are there other things that could help with keeping warm? I am suddenly delighted I failed to send back some merino baselayer I bought in the sale last winter... it's amazing. And a great excuse to buy lovely blankets...

I feel the cold terribly so I know what it’s like. Even in summer I feel cold unless it’s above 24 degrees. I dread people opening windows at work. I’ve had my heating on today, it’s only 5 years old so pretty efficient, but I’ve still had to wear a cardigan over my jumper. I’m dreading winter 🥶I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Lou Multi Fuel Stove.
The installation would be a huge mess, holes in ceiling, roof.
Where would you store the fuel where you could get at it and carry it in to the house without getting wet through when it rains, or snows.
Could you get down on your hands and knees to clean it out? What would happen if you fell whilst you were carrying a pan of ashes?
Honestly please forget that.
Do you have gas in the house? do you have an existing gas fire? or are you all electric? If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.4 -

If you were going to go for it though I'd suggest definitely go for a multi-fuel one due to the issues mentioned previously around new legislation.

OK Beanie I think what you want is something like this.
Focal Point Fires Mono High Efficiency Gas Fire - Black | Robert Dyas
Not saying this exact model but it will give you an idea of what to look for, but you will need to find someone to install it and before you get to that stage someone to advise you if it's feasible. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.4 -
Is there any way you could have extra or bigger radiators that work on your existing heating system. We put an extra one in our living room a few years back as it’s a long thin room….it made a big difference.I think I’d be tempted to get in touch with the citizens advice link that was posted for you ( sorry not sure who posted it)
Good luck with your decision 🤞👍January spends - £587.583
