Sorry to hear about your friend, what a shock,
I think I'm going to look up Staged - I've seen the adverts on BBC and thought it looked good. Thanks for the recommendation Polly."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Another recommendation for Staged, from me - I've only seen one, S2 ep1, and it was fantastic. I'm now going to find the first season on catchup. I saw the two of them on Graham Norton, and they were talking about things like why DT always has different places when he's filming, whereas MS doesn't - its because of those five kids2023: the year I get to buy a car5

They replaced a broken zip in dds expensive boots she'd had for years. They had an orthotic insole and were available in different calf sizes. She'd had them for years and they were very comfortable. They insisted they had to replace both zips send the boots away and they would be ready for collection in 3 weeks. Went to pick them up , two cheap zips in a different shade of brown . Poor stitching and a £90 bill. I complaine to head office but it seems no one gets any joy there. They now charge upfront.. They'd asked me for £30 when I handed them over then another £60 when I picked them up. Never again , If there hadn't still been a lot of wear left in them and they were such a perfect fit for dd I'd have thrown them at him and walked away. There are two proper cobblers a few miles away. I went to one and he looked at them and said Timpsons? He replaced the zips perfectly matching and good quality for £20 while we waited. That's where I go now.Better for you and your Ma to stay home in the snow and keep safe. The weather will improve and better neither of you risk your lives driving in bad conditions. It's hard but better safe than sorry. You may already know this but until I watched Staged I didn't know DT has a tiny tardis in his garden. That made me smile. Bet there were times he wished it was full size and he could fire it up and take off away from lockdown and it's challenges.pollyx

Beanie, I don't know the details of the rules in Scotland, but check that you're *allowed* to see a bubble person that you need to drive to - things are getting a bit forceful down here2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Our dry cleaners offer a sewing service and it includes leather (because they replaced the zip in my jacket and made an invisible mend patch), if that is worth you exploring up there.
I think the Police are reviewing some of the enforcement measures where common sense was not a feature but also looking to get tougher with flagrant breachesSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I hope you manage to see your mum soon Beanie.
I agree with cracking down on covid rule breakers, but I did think it seemed a bit much that those women in Derbyshire got fined by the police for driving five miles to go for a walk, and how can a coffee be categorised as a picnic? I wish the police would spend more time in supermarkets fining people who wear their masks under their noses! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
