So now the boring bits!
In 2021 I would like to weigh less by the end of it than I do now!!
My big target for 2021 is to increase my credit union savings.
I recently discovered that if I die then my CU savings are doubled.
This will pay towards my funeral when needed as I have no funeral savings.

It’s good you’re getting savings but hopefully they won’t be needed for a funeral for a very long time 👍

It sounds morbid but it’s a good idea to have something in place. A few years ago I lost a lovely work colleague at the very young age of 29. He was healthy, went home early feeling a bit off, we never saw him again. He had been very sensible and had everything in place funeral wise. You just never know what’s round the corner.Hopefully won’t be needed for a very long time but at least you’ve got something in place just in case.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I never knew that, beanie, about the credit union doubling! I wonder if it applies to all of them? As for funeral expenses ... those policies are a complete scam, and allocating your own savings is fine if you want to do that. There's a phrase at the start of my will, which is completely conventional, that says about my executor recouping expenses from my estate - that's enough, especially for me, as my sister is well able to pay for my funeral out of her own money, and then do the recouping. If she died before me, I'd have a word with my niece.
Good heavens! Still, we need to think about this stuff sometimes.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Good luck with the targets for this year. That's really interesting about the CU savings."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4
