When I'm on a mission to declutter clothes I have a good look at the stuff I don't wear, why don't I wear it, time for it to go. Something else I've heard but not tried is when you hang something back up in the wardrobe turn the hanger the other way round. After a set time look at what's still hanging the other way and that's all the stuff you don't wear and can get rid of.

I need to have a major cull of my summer clothes and sandals this year, got far too many, loads of stuff I haven't worn for years.

I think we both need to be ruthless :)

I did my summer clothes last week & they were easy as I dont expect to go abroad again & I am now to old to wear vest tops in this country.

This has helped my decluttering Beanie as I also don't show my knees. Off to get rid of the skirts that are above knee. Thank you ;)

  • I am another that doesn't like showing my knees so I agree with you getting rid of them. What else might you find in the wardrobe you had forgotten about !

I was just surprised to find a skirt I wore to a wedding about 11 years ago It is lovely but I fear it will be way too small.

  • I only show my knees in the winter if I'm wearing thick tights and I think I'm too old for vest tops too. But I've got a few vest tops that are useful for layering under other tops to keep me warm. I do think that if you've haven't worn it for years then it can probably go.

Well done on the de-cluttering Beanie :). I'm sorry paying the plumber meant you had to miss physio though :(.

You're doing very well with the decluttering beanie. I think we all need to be ruthless with clothes occasionally. I'm another one who doesn't show knees anymore - I live in trousers or jeans. I have some dresses but as I'm tall I wear them more like tunics and put leggings or thick tights underneath. The last time I wore a dress was a couple of years ago at the races - must admit I would have been more comfortable in trousers.

I'm another one that does SA's hanger trick though - it works very well I find.
