Sent xbox one by mistake

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask a question. I ordered something from a company a few days ago, worth about £50 but much to my surprise, I instead received an xbox one.

I'm wondering if I'd get into any legal trouble if I kept it? Please don't turn this into a debate about ethics/morals, I'd just like to know whether or not I have the right to keep it, as someone told me that if you are sent something you didn't request then its legally yours.

Thank you,
pelvisdentist

Call them up, tell them what's happened and they will decide what to do, most likely send a courier out.

Thanks, but I'd just like to know if I have to give it back or if I can keep it without legal trouble?
  • Inform them about the xbox you received and they will tell you what to do. If they decide not to get it back, then it's yours.
  • I don't think you're understanding my question. All I want to know is if I HAVE to give it back? If I don't HAVE to then I dont see the point in asking them if they want it back.

The answers you've had know what you're asking.

And they are answering you, you cannot keep it.

So now your only option to avoid issues is to call them and ask them what they would like to do.

I was told by someone that if someone sends you something unsolicited then you can legally keep it

Not sure why people ask questions like this when a quick google gives the answer.
