Just wanted to pick someones brain, i was playing football last week in works time. It wasn't an official match just a kickabout with the lads in the section i ended up breaking my ankle.
Can i put a claim in or is it tough luck just one of those things?

We also need to know about any incident or exposure you feel caused your injury or illness, for instance:
if the incident happened whilst participating in a sporting activity, were you representing your unit or regiment, was it during an organised PT session, or was it in your own time0 -

It was in works time but had been given permission for the section to have a kickabout.

Sounds a bit like Compulsory PT...
Good Luck.0 -
It doesn't have to be compulsory PT, just organised PT.0

Out of interest, why do you feel the need to make a "claim"? Accidents happen, and as an AF member, you will get all medical treatment free, with much less waiting time than the Civvy world.0

A claim for what?0

I wouldn't rock the boat as it was "in works time"0

I'm not necessarily gonna make a claim i've reported the accident and if I have problems with my ankle in 10 years time and unable to work its a nice little security belt knowing i could be compensated for it, and as for free medical treatment everyone gets it.0 -

This wasn't compulsory game it was something you choose to do....a 'kick around' during work hours is irrelevant... As long as you listen to all medical advice you shouldn't have any future problems severe enough that you will have to give up work, you may feel a little arthritis creep in but that could also just be down to normal day to day wear and tear. Afraid it's not going to feather your nest, taking out income protection is there for that.0
