what if, for example, we're able to find the company the carer was working for?
If we call them to find out who was working that week, are they under obligation to tell us? they could just hang up
If you identify her then put the case in the hands of your solicitor. No need to speak to the person or her employers or anybody else. Obviously if you can't find her then there's nothing that can be done. Hopefully you will, though.0 -

whereas doing that to a policeman would be classed as obstructing justice
I don't mean to be rude but you're clutching at straws here.
It's not a matter for the police so forget them.
You've already spoken to a solicitor so get him to obtain the cctv. If there is a vehicle they drive off in let him decide if you are entitled to keeper details from the dvla.0 -
I think we might be able to track down her employer
finding the individuals name may be more difficult, hence the call to the care company.0 -

solicitors don't seem interested without name of the individual
it's a bit of a poulet ou des oeufs situation0 -

They wont divulge that information to you. One because of the Data Protection Act and secondly you could be a stalker or a crazy ex partner.
As already stated, let your solicitor deal with the care company if you manage to trace it.0 -

Was the carer in uniform? If not, do you know that they were a paid carer?0
