I'm in a similar situation - my birth mother left her husband and children and ran off with a merchant seaman. Had me and went back to her husband while my father was at sea. I was adopted through the Sally Army . Somewhere I have 5 half brothers/sisters but, as I was in my 30's when I found out and my Mother was so upset about it coming out I never bothered trying to trace anyone. Not bothered about my birth mother but would have liked to find siblings - it just wasn't worth causing my Mother any more upset. She had lost a baby herself and I think that in her own mind I had become the baby she lost - so she shut out the adoption bit.

    Good morning :)

How sad TBW. I think it was a more common occurrence than is realised :(
In my Dads case, he was very respectful towards his 'parents' and refused to go looking for information whilst they were still alive. He didn't find out properly, like you until late on in life. When they passed away and we did go looking, we found virtually nothing. No real information about where he came from and a non existent paper trail as nothing was official. We found some letters with a few bits of info. It explained a lot of things to him. He'd had terrible trouble enlisting in the RAF because his birth certificate was 'lost'. In reality, they'd never had it. So many people and things got displaced during the war, that was an acceptable explanation.

It's still way beyond my comprehension how you can keep a secret like that for a whole lifetime.

For those of us who have been sent the M&S 25% off codes to use with our reward vouchers:) it works on the25% off wines.....taking the 25% off the full price.......and you don't have to use your vouchers:)

I'm saving mine post Christmas in the hope that they give out the £5 off ones again.

Please can I ask Did the code come in a seperate email or was it amongst the paperwork that came with the reward vouchers?

I only got £3 worth :) - so not their biggest customer. I got some 4 times points vouchers but not worth hanging onto -
Actually I am thinking if you can use these in the cafe - I wonder if they will let me use 2 coffee vouchers and these £3 reward vouchers and then that's most of most of the cost of an afternoon tea - treat my OH :)

Thanks cc, I will hold off on getting a moses basket I don't really like and hope the really nice one comes back into stock. Glad you got your nutri-bullet :)

It always feels that I am on the bus mega early  First bus from my way is 6.25am so thats the one I try and get if I am coming into work early :o

I think I'd seriously struggle getting to a bus stop that early, waking up at that time is hard enough :o

    Out there question :o

I've seen either batman or superman onesies with capes attached recently. For the life of me I can't remember where. Anyone else seen them and can enlighten me? I need one for Friday......well not me personally  :rotfl:
